Topic: Ways Joe's Name Has Been Murdered

An out-of-town co-worker that I've mentioned Joe to several times asked me today,
"What was the name of that guy you like, Bassamo?  Bossomonopapa??"

Well, you gotta start somewhere!

Re: Ways Joe's Name Has Been Murdered

haha! This is funny Sally! I think we've all had this happen to us before. Usually people remember the first "bona" but the end is totally butchered. I still think some of my friends purposely butcher his name just to annoy me..some people! LOL

Re: Ways Joe's Name Has Been Murdered

In college, a buddy of mine said it sounded like Boner-master.

I don't think my 6 year old has said it the same way twice yet.

Re: Ways Joe's Name Has Been Murdered

I shared this in another post awhile back but I'll share it here...

My co-worker's husband plays the guitar.  Now and then I give him a CD of various people and included a whole bunch of Joe songs on a recent CD for him.  My co-worker is so funny because she came in the next day to tell me her husband really loved the music by that guy who plays with everyone.  I asked her if she could be more specific and she said no.  She ended up texting her husband and later in the day she said - oh - it was that Joe Bonatollini guy he flipped out for.  I said - You mean Joe Bonamassa and she's like yeah - that guy.

Lol It's really not that hard of a name to say or remember.Although I do recall when I first heard him I said  to someone John Bonamassa !

Re: Ways Joe's Name Has Been Murdered

It's with total conviction a friend of mine refers to Joe as 'Mike Panasamo' and every time I remind him how wide of the mark that is he just says 'near enough though'. It had the same number of syllables and there the similarity ends :0)

Re: Ways Joe's Name Has Been Murdered

I forget where I heard it (this was more than 5 years ago), but I remember someone calling him Joe Bossanova.
I think that's when one of Joe's new cd's showed up in the latin music section of one retailer.

Early on before my Mom met Joe she did say "Joe Bonamaducci"   (bon-a-ma-doo-chee) lol might have gotten her wires crossed with The Partridge Family's "Danny Bonaduce"  wink

I met Danny Bonaduce once. He lived in the area near us and we crossed paths on the local bike path. We had a very brief chat.
And now back to our regularly scheduled topic...

Wasn't he a character from "Godfather II"?

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?
