I really dig it, songwise - it's really cool on the ear and the writings really cool. A bit less riffy/guitar oriented maybe but more about the tune as a whole - which I really like as a bit of a change. Reminds me a bit of the style of writing on the way earlier albums. Really cool stuff - finally a real sing-along from Joe? haha, I dig it,
After 3 more listnens:
Really happy with this tune, I dug Ain't a love letter and the other new tunes - but this is really fresh coming from Joe. I'm a real sucker for melody, and the tasty lines between the vocals..........
It's on repeat!
Also, I love the video-style, it's like the Beth Hart/Joe videos. An insight into the behind the scenes in the studio.
Awesome.
You can really hear the influence of the writers he's been working with on this record. His lead tone is stunning as always, and the band is killing it. I think it's a cool track, well-written, with good lyrics and production.
I like that all of his albums are a little different, and this one seems to be on that course. Definitely looking forward to more.
Didn't realise Joe had joined The Eagles?
(I quite like The Eagles)
I'm really digging this new song! It definitely has more of a melody type feel, reminds me of Driving Towards the Daylight because it has more focus on his singing and less guitar solos. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album!
LOVE IT ! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!
Can't wait to hear all of "Different Shades of Blue '

Holy poop. That's amazing. That is just special, I can't think of another way of saying it. Joe and Kevin just never disappoint, do they? I was looking forward to the release as it was, now it's going to be ridiculous. I just sent the link to my wife, her response was, "That's our boy!"

Just listened/watched the video.
That's pretty good, well done the JB team.
Lester.
Stellar...as always. Can hum it after one listen through. Great to see Reese's infectious smile once more too.
Thanks for posting!!!!!
Love it - on the first quick very distracted dislocated listen. it was really what i needed to re-lax.
that is some nice modern blues that sounds beautiful
It could even be a hit on "country radio!" I'm being facetious, of course. Maybe with a little tweaking the arrangement...Might sound good, but I'm not sure that's true...
I think Duncan is going to be very pleased with this album!
Rock ON & Keep the Faith,
Rocket
Nice tune. Can't wait for the rest.

I am really loving this song! Listened to it numerous times now. Love the lyrics, the flow of the whole thing, the 12 string sound and of course the beautiful clean, high, clear notes of the solo played on what I think is Spot (could be wrong about the guitar) and Joe throws in a Fender just for good measure, lol. I think this song will definitely appeal to a wide audience. Excellent job Joe and Kevin and everyone else involved!

You know I didn't think Eagles in particular but it reminded me of the California Country rock I was fond of in the 70's. But yes if the Eagles cover that song they may have their first hit in 25 years.
Love it! Sounds fantastic. Can't wait for the rest of the album, and the studio videos never get old. Seeing the hard work in the studio really adds to it all.
Production wise, it's excellent, best Joe & Kevin Shirley sounding album (if the album sounds like this song). Best bass sound I've ever heard in a long time. Joe tone sounds sweet. I'm getting a little bit tired of the same ol' drum sound on all the albums, nothing against Anton Fig, of course, he's an amazing drummer, but I'd like to hear something different on the future.
Songwise, I can't say I really liked it. I'm a sucker for riffs, loud guitars, all kinds of blues and all that stuff and I see this as a step away from it and closer towards a more "pop" type of song. I'm not criticizing it, it's just not my cup of tea. Glad to see most of Joe's fans like it at least, that's awesome!
I'm hoping for more "Oh beautiful" and "Love aint a love song" type of songs in the album. Bring it!
Edit: I'm thinking of this song in the context of the album and then it might work. If the albums has a lot of rockers, you need a moment to breath, and this might do it for the album. Then again, I wouldn't release this song as the single, as it wouldn't represent what the album will be. Ah, speculations... can't wait to hear the full album!
I love it. Would like to see Joe expand on it live...which I'm sure he will.
