Re: Matthew Curry & the Fury

Matthew has been chosen by Fender to be part of their Fender Accelerator Tour.  It provides emerging musicians the support and resources they need to grow their fan base and promote their music.  Each band is receiving tour support including a customized 15-passenger touring van, promotional and marketing support, and Fender gear, including electric and acoustic guitars, basses, amps and accessories. To keep the tour moving at full speed, Fender is also covering all fuel and vehicle maintenance needs.

Great news for Matthew!!

Re: Matthew Curry & the Fury

Just bought and listened to the album on iTunes.  How do you explain something like this?  So much talent, so mature in such a young guy.  Thank you for bringing him to our attention.  Music is my hobby and one of the parts I enjoy the most is "discovering" someone I have never heard of before and thinking, "holy poop" this is as good as anything I've heard, in a long time.  It's been a good night.

The only thing we deserve, is an opportunity.  Everything else has to be earned.

At the bottom of the page in the video interview with Matthew and it's shot in his room and you can see a signed concert poster of JB on the wall from Joe's show at the Lafayette Club in Bloomington, IL in 2006(?).  There is also a few live videos if you click a link under the pic of Matthew in front of the Castle Theater.

Yes he is a big fan of Joe's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcObdUqxTvg Tell me what this song riff comes from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvUFlzjZZtY

I brought Mathew into town last summer. His debut release from a label is really good and of all the Bonamassa inspired young guns I really like this kid. Getting some breaks as an opener. We talked at length about how to take advantage of the exposure playing the markets in clubs and building his own fan base. He is a very good acoustic player and writes a decent song. He has one of the largest agencies helping make things happen like the opening gigs which is a blessing and a curse. He needs to be able to create demand for his band because the big agency will lose interest in him after awhile. It happened to Joe. He needs to prepare for that possibility and believe in himself. He understands what it takes and willing to do what is necessary.

I believe it comes from "I know where I belong"
