Topic: Jack White Lazaretto

The new Jack White disc is fantastic...This is a very well written cohesive album with the typical eclectic mix of Rock, blues, and folk. At just under 40 minutes, it's pretty much all killer no filler type album with a great 5 piece back up band including an electriv violin..This disc is a little more polished and focused than some previous efforts..although ""Elephant "Icky Thump", and The Raconteurs "Consolers of the Lonely" disc are all top notch. This album is just filled with great tunes like the title track...an addictive riff with a punch...we also have a great forboding love song like "Would you Fight For my Love", The great instrumental " High Ball Stepper" where Jack tries to figure out just how much reverb he can get...The jaunty" Alone in my Home"...and the ultra cool "Black Bat Licorice" which sounds like something from the 40's updated for the 21st century, not to mention "3 Women" a Blind Willie Mctell number that Jack brings to life with this new band...also " A good Stones type tune called "Just one Drink"...and the duet "Temporary Ground" that sounds like the Appalachian profile Jack seems to be fascinated with since "Cold Mountain" This is solid solid solid...with the Murf's highest recommendation...
