Re: Led Zep to honor Ahmet Ertegun

Shred my personal opinion is Black Dog only sounds good on the album anyway and no one ever plays it good period....Before you think ol' Rocket don't like Black Dog and Zep, my suggestion for my Dazed & Confused (I was there AND remember) high school prom theme was Black Dog!  Somehow Stairway TO Heaven won out-BAH!...IT is an awesome STUDIO RECORDING though!!! That song is impossible to play anyway...don't disagree with me, we did that dance on the old website forum...I need proof and haven't seen / heard it from even Jimmy Page, so...same goes for the Zep reunion, I need proof, action not words...Do however,
Rock On & Keep the Faith,
Rocket

"Rock legends LED ZEPPELIN will reportedly reunite for a one-off memorial concert in honor of their late record boss, Ahmet Ertegun, before embarking on a world tour.

ZEPPELIN has only performed a handful of concerts, including Live Aid in 1985, since its split in 1980 following the death of drummer John Bonham.

But, if the reports are to be believed, singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones will re-group alongside Bonham's son Jason for a special concert in memory of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun in London.

A source says, "Page, Plant and Jones spoke and agreed to do the memorial concert. They are waiting for a definite date."

Anyone else hear this?

Possibly Cream and Rolling Stones also to play...

Hi Angela,

I can flat out tell you, if that reunion ever happens. I will do everything possible to get tickets, especially if Cream and the Stones were there. I mentioned it to the boss, she said keep an eye open, we have always wanted to cross the pond. Hey maybe Michael could hang out with us, that would be cool!

Got a quick story for you. I brought up your post to a friend at work yesterday. He was stationed in Germany while in the service. He said he went to see Zeppelin in Nuremburg in '79', they were the only group scheduled to play on the show. He goes to get a beer, all of a sudden he hears "black dog" being played, he said his thoughts were*** who's playing that, it sounds terrible, it cant be them, must be some opening band*** Then the music stops after a very short time, he hears all this ruckus, hurrys out to see what the skinny is. Some one had thrown a smoke bomb on stage, and Bonham is passed out cold lying on the stage. People are running to his aid, Robert Plant says "we'll be right back". They never came back on stage, show was over after 30 seconds. I wonder if anyone on the forum was there that night, he would like to know what happened. My own Zep story is both sad and mad. I saw them in the Bay Area around '77', but dont remember any of the show, I partied way too much back then, what a dummy! Fortunately I caught Plant in the bay area 3 years ago, it eased some of my pain (LOL)
