Re: New 'Supergroup' - 3 ex Joe members?

I've read a few comments on Zakk working with Rick, Bogie, and Eric and I'd like to chime in. There's really no riding Joe's success here unless you recognize these fine musicians who once toured with Joe. That said, Zakk has communicated interest in working with them and they have shown interest in the same. Any talk of tours in Europe or otherwise is premature. First comes demos and so on. The Facebook page is to let people know something is in the works and to build support based on those who appreciate Zakk, Rick, Bogie, and Eric. Zakk is not straight blues unless he chooses to play covers. He's blues rock and he has some obvious talent in his play. The opportunity to work with these fine musicians will prove to be a great value in Zakk's learning which is what a young guy needs. Who wouldn't want to work with these guys? I would suggest that everyone sit back and watch what comes from this Powerhouse team as it will take some time to develop. Yes, Bogie's education is a consideration as would be the others schedules but things are progressing.

I've known Zakk since he was 15 and one thing is for certain, he won't quit, this is his chosen path, and as he matures he'll realize his success will come from hard work and gratitude for those who offered a hand to him. The name Powerhouse is dual purpose which you will learn about if you follow them. I hope your interest and support of Rick, Bogie, and Eric allow you to support Zakk too just as they have chosen to do. The four of them will stand on their own merit as it should be. It's an extraordinary opportunity for a young man don't you think? Watch for their music, I believe it will be worthy of praise.

Thanks for chiming in Zakk. If you didn't get my reference to the Arc Angels that was one of the many projects former sidemen of SRV Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon were in. I loved that album along with one of the other projects they also were in. Storyville and they even had a self titled album full of special guests called Double Trouble. Loved that album. The rhythm section was just that, nothing more nothing less. What made it good were the songs and the singers. I don't know why those bands never had much success outside of Austin though. It's a tough business. I wish you all good luck. smile

Jim, I'm a huge fan of all things Double Trouble and I own all the music from the Arc Angels, Storyville, and the Double Trouble album. Great music as is the Bonamassa library!

Sounds like a good combo. Experienced master musicians working with a young talent. Go for it Zakk, you couldn't do better than these fine players.
