Re: Joe at Clapham Common London - 28 June

Tickets for Sunday with Stevie Wonder headlining go on sale today.

Saturday's line up gets better (if that's possible with Joe already on the bill smile ) with Richie Sambora added. Orianthi, the highly respected guitarist from Australia, will be playing with Richie Sambora so it's turning into guitar heaven. I just hope Joe's time slot doesn't coincide as he will probably be on another stage.

More artists to be announced soon.

Hopefully the set list will be the same as Pinkpop in Holland. Stage times to be announced next week.

Agreed Phil and 45 mns for Thunder is a disgrace smile as they are the ultimate festival band.

See you Saturday.

I plan to be at the front of the queue so anyone going to Calling please come and say hello.

Re: Joe at Clapham Common London - 28 June

Having had plenty of dry warm weather in London recently the forecast for tomorrow is not looking good with heavy and thundery showers likely just before the time Joe's due on stage. sad  I just hope I won't be singing "I'm sick and I'm all done in and I'm standing in the rain, and I feel like I'm gonna die" before Joe does!

Re: Joe at Clapham Common London - 28 June

From where I was standing, Joe went down very well. There were a lot of people around me who were clearly there just to see Aerosmith but it was obvious that they were pretty impressed, pretty quickly.

There was a bit of chatter around me during the into to Sloe Gin but the interesting thing was they all shut up when Joe's guitar started to do the talking. In fact after one early high speed run up and down the neck there were groups of people near me actually standing open mouthed.

For me, I would also add that it was a very strong vocal performance from Joe. An Aerosmith fan near me said "this guy has an amazing voice"

All in all, I'd say a real success (and it's never easy following Thunder) - I suspect Joe has a few more fans this morning.

From memory, set list was:

Oh beautiful
Story of a Quarryman
Song of Yesterday
Slow Train
Love ain't a love song
Sloe Gin
Ballard of John Henry

Nik Huber Orca, Gibson Custom Shop Siberian Tiger Les Paul Standard, Haydn Williams Evo Pro, MusicMan JP15, Gibson Les Paul Bonamassa Studio, Fender Strat. Marshall 1987x, Bad Cat Black Cat, Mesa Boogie Mark V, Cornell Romany

Wish I could've been there but good news about Hammersmith Apollo next year. We'll certainly make one or two of those dates.

In case anyone doesn't get across to the Reviews and Set List forum, here's the thread with links to my Calling Festival videos of Song of Yesterday and Slow Train and Love Ain't A Love Song and a breathtakingly good Sloe Gin.
