I agree, I think that "Down around my place" is the best song on there.

Any progress?!  Hopefully you are planning on listening in the proper start to end release order. cool
And don't be in a rush to because it's one, two, three strikes you're out!  The open-ended approach of the first, and my favorite because they just plain smoke the livin' daylights outta it...it's one of those sessions where the guys are playing for each other has raw edge of "measured" spontaneity all over the album.

Thanks.....I will purchase and listen in the proper order.

I did not purchase all of Joe's cd in the proper order......but after I had purchased all of them........I have listened to them all thru the chronological order many times......great stuff and a great way to feel the journey, indeed.

I did not care for funk/jazz in the 70's when it was new. But, I do like RCFP - because of Joe. Same for BCC. I would not care for the music if not for Joe on it. He makes it accessible to me. Joe gives me a genre of music which I had very little of. Same thing with horns in music. I like horns if they are playing with Bonamassa.

I've got all the legit stuff - in another post I stated that I would only buy 2 out of the 4 Tour de Force cds because I don't like the fades. But, I broke down and fed my fix for Joe's music and now have bought everything he's released! I love the music on the Tour cds. Shepherd Bush is my favorite right now - he makes horns "accessible" to me too.

Give the RCFP show a try - it's actually somewhat hypnotic when watched on a good screen. The band is top notch and Tal did a great job of producing the DVD and cds. It definitely "grooves". If I were to buy one, I'd get the live DVD/cd package rather than the studio RCFP - they just cook hotter live.
