My remedy for flu and colds has always been the "this too shall pass" method, i.e. Your body is as likely to fight it off on its own as quickly as any over the counter medication. If I take NyQuil it's cause I can't sleep, not because I expect it to cure me.

Two fingers Scotch two teaspoons honey two teaspoons lemon juice 1teaspoon sugar 1-finger water. heat in a sauce pan stirring till hot. when hot enough pour in your favorite drinking cup and sip slowly to sooth the throat and relax the body. Take as needed. My grandmother's recipe. She was Irish/Black Dutch' and Cherokee. Get well Joe we love ya!!!

We are gonna make the date up probably Spring of next year. I'm very to have to cancel any gig.... It's been 2 years 3 weeks since my last one. I was hoping to run the gammitt again this year.
I'm 198 wins 2 losses in my past two and a half seasons.

Last sick days: October 15th & 16th 2011 - had tickets for the Nottingham gig. We had booked a hotel so still travelled & enjoyed a great pub crawl around the town. Went back to Nottingham the following April for the show & also got tickets for Liverpool a few days previous.

Here is the announcement from 2 years ago.
Joe Bonamassa has just come down with the flu, and has been forced to cancel his gigs at the Blackpool Opera House on Saturday October 15th and the Nottingham Capital FM Arena on Sunday October 16th.
The Blackpool concert has been rescheduled to Thursday April 5th 2012, while the Nottingham gig has been rescheduled to Monday April 2nd 2012. All tickets that have been purchased by fans will be valid for the re-scheduled dates .
“Hey Everybody, I am really sorry to announce that I have to reschedule tonights show in Blackpool and tomorrow’s in Nottingham because I have come down with the flu. I want to play the best show possible and right now couldn’t even tune my guitar properly. The rescheduled dates are APRIL 2, 2012 for Nottingham Arena and APRIL 5 2012 Blackpool opera house. Again I am very sorry for all the inconvenience.” – Joe Bonamassa

We should have been at that one as well - it is a shame but if you are too sick to do the show you don't have any choice. We saw him later at Brighton.
