Hey everyone,

So as you all seem to know by now, we were hacked over the weekend with a message bringing attention to the situation in Brazil right now. As Jane said, the only reason we can gather why we were targeted had to do with our site's perceived traffic and our recent advertising push in Brazil to promote Joe's upcoming shows there. Fortunately, we had backups of the site and were able to get everything up and running again, having only lost a few days worth of web work.

We're continuing to look into the cause of this.

It is my understanding that they are upset with the Olympics coming and another event so my guess is that any form of entertainment, etc... is upsetting.  I am not being political, I am just wanting Joe & Co. to be safe.  Safety first!

I was wondering. tried most of the weekend at some point but no go. None of the links I had in history or anywhere worked.

I was on the point of asking on the FB page, but thought better of it. Patience paid off.

I must admit to being a bit freaked out by the initial graphic that came up when I went to log into this site on Friday (Aus time).  Then I saw the redirect to the other hosting site with the political spiel.  I didn't read it all, but was semi glad this seemed to be just an attention seeking hack rather than a malicious 'take down' hack...

I wonder if the exploited flaw was in the PunBB forum software or the hosting platform?!?

I'm just glad it is back. FWIW, I was trying to get here from a bookmark in my browser, not from the main site's "Forum" link, and it wouldn't let me in that way, not until today...

The navigation buttons from the top menu bar to the main site don't work. They give an "internal server error".

- my comment about it not being Brasilians was slightly tongue in cheek guys.

The Anonymous group are spread around the world, - they are a well co-ordinated virtual group with followers who pick up on symbolism such as the Guy Fawkes mask and  cause chaos and damage, - the highest profile conviction to date coming out of the UK with the misguided genius Chris Weatherhead and I believe a lot of them within the USA.

They are notorious at taking a cause and bringing chaos and promotion around, - these are extremely intelligent group who have proved already that they can take out anything online including law enforcement or Government if they choose to. Not glorifying anything here but it is a kind of compliment to have seen Joe's site worthy of attention, - it is still vandalism though sad
