Re: On this day in MAY Bonahistory (& the starting of the BH Threads)

....and thanks RickB.  Soon into starting BHistory … I thought Joe may chime in with a short post about a particular show or memory.  After a couple months … with no Joe post … I figured Joe's not looking in the rearview … and rightfully so!!  Never thought about it after that.

When I saw him post up a few minutes after I put up yesterday's BH … I thought at first I had clicked on the wrong Thread (I was going back and forth editing my post … adding the links to the other months at the bottom which I hadn't done yet this month.)

Very cool he posted on RAH day!  I couldn't have picked a better BHistory date for Joe to post in on.

Thanks for all the BHistory videos you have captured and shared with us all along the way.  Adds REAL color to the black and white lists of dates and places!

Thanks Sandy for sharing! Great times and memories worth a lifetime. I had brought my Nikon in and was able to sneak  some cool shots with no problem with the Ushers. The Cocoon was a blast, a lot of hard work went into the planning of that. Hard to believe it has been five years.

Just a great resource to utilize.   Thanks for sharing thoughts and pics.  I did not realize they had that after party.  Patty put some cool pics  up from that on Bonanation.  Thanks to all of you that were there.  I can't imagine how proud you all must have felt. he was there in a large part from your hard work. Thanks for all this.  Joe you are the man!

5/21/12 - a year ago today - David Letterman appearance. "Bonamonster!"

Didn't see Bonahistory as a past topic...didn't want to duplicate.  Maybe someday we can fill up each day of the year. smile

(Sorry...getting late on the east coast.)

I'm not a fan of letterman, but it was clear he really liked Joe's playing and tone. He had a great quote ..."Honest to God, if you dont sound like that, why get out of bed in the morning?"

A good day to relive this Bonamoment. 5 years ago today and I would say everyone knew this was a big moment for one Joe selling out the RAH without ever mentioning Clapton's name. Clapton showing up was a bonus but the repercussions of his guest appearance is still paying dividends today. It got the attention of Palladia as well as PBS. and Joe has grown exponentially since the DVD footage aired. I think one of the all time best concert DVD's out there. I can't remember if I have shared this footage before I had it on an old Youtube account and tried to find it but I had it unlisted. Happened to find it on my hard drive and uploaded to my new channel. It is still unlisted. Must have the link to see it.

Yes best concert DVDs out there. Wow so you were at sound check when Clapton played? Way cool cheers Ron

Ian? .. lol cool

Thank u for posting those Rocket

When I first found Joe, his story, and journey that had him realize his dream .. I could not help but get choked up watching the performance. Even I could see (as I'm sure all of u watching witnessed 1st hand) the cloud he was on.

To this day .. every time the RAH DVD plays .. I get goose bumps (and no, its not from the Canadian winter .. lol)

I can only imagine the emotions and great joys everyone experienced that evening.

Cheers! cool

ps: the Cocoon runabout was the icing on the cake .. lol

Time flies smile That trip was so special. Meeting so many forum friends ( this was pre-Facebook) and staying close friends to this day. There weren't many dry eyes when the show started. We all puffed up with pride at "our Joe". The Brits were Class A hosts wink

Re: On this day in MAY Bonahistory (& the starting of the BH Threads)

Speaking of the show on 5/5/06, that was the night Joe and I sang Walk in My Shadow together...documented in AJ's review and the comments, lol. Great memories!

Glad you didn't mind me sharing.  I had my camera under the seat, too, but didn't even think about using it (well, I did think about it but just couldn't ) until the final bows.  Yelled at Christie to get out of my way to get my one shot of the night.  Such an awesome night.

Thanks for all the photos comments and memories. I especially like Rockets Roundabout run thru or whatever he called it. Every time I see that RAH DVD  and Joe walks out to see all of you standing thereI just get choked up. And to hear how much it meant to all of you. Priceless.

This was the 2nd of two nights and Joe played the exact same set list...but in reverse order.
He said he knew there were people attending both shows and wanted to mix it up a bit.
