Re: How did you discover Joe?

Bill S, this is simply crushing and yet beautiful and one of the most moving discovery stories I have heard.

Thank you so much.      :hug

I "discovered" joe in 2004. Here is a post I made on January 3, 2008, which explains some of the additional emotion behind my discovery:

"On December 3rd of 2004, a great friend of mine called me at 4:30PM with a spare ticket for a musician I had never heard of before. The show was at 7:30PM that night.
Mark proceeded to give me 10 minutes of glowing reports of Joe Bonamassa. As luck would have it, I was available that evening...an evening that changed my life forever and for the better. I have seen an even 20 shows, counting that first one. I have listened and watched countless hours of Joe's albums, tapes of live shows and dvd's.
I have made many friends who share the same passion that I do.
Mark will always hold a special place in my heart because he gave me the gift of Joe.
Mark died today after a recurrence of cancer and complications from a November bone marrow transplant. He never made it out of the hospital.
We fished together, we golfed together and we shared a love of great music.
He was a true friend and will be sorely missed.
Please say a prayer for his wife and family."

Today,April 3, 2013 I can't help wonder how pleased Mark would be to see where Joe's career has gone. He knew way back then how special Joe was...and I knew it after the first song I heard.

Re: How did you discover Joe?

Sorry for your loss, Bill S.

I discovered Joe as around the time that You & Me was released, a song appeared on Classic Rock Magazine's free CD. It would possibly have been either High Water Everywhere or Bridge to Better Days...

My dad bought You & Me off the back of that and then didn't like it (for some reason), and passed it on to me and I liked it so I bought every new album from then on and bought all the previous albums too. Still got 'em all!

Does Joe have a new studio album in the works yet?

He is not due to go into the studio until January 2014.
