I like the Planet Rock review better than the Independent one, but I don't get the feeling either reviewer really knew Joe's work. This show wasn't just early songs, and the reappearance of Fender guitars was historic. I like the reviews from fan attendees much better. smile

The reviewers also overlooked Joe’s dedication to his long time fans. I can’t think of a better way to say thank you to all those familiar faces in the front row!

I know nothing about guitars but geez there’s a certain sound those Fenders make that you can’t get out of a Les Paul. I sincerely hope time really does heal old wounds.

I’m enjoying the stroll down Bonamemory Lane, thanks Pete and Rick for the time, effort and sharing of these excellent videos!

I don't mind a casual fan not knowing the facts, but for a published review you have to get it right, or at least a lot closer to correct. Sad to think a real fan could have - really should have - been there instead.

Re: The Borderline

thanks to all who posted vids. Man I would have loved to be there.

Re: The Borderline

I can't believe that Planet Rock review. Not only is it factually incorrect (Joe's early work apparently contains 4 songs from his most recent 3 albums), the final sentence is laughable. Basically it's saying that at the end of the gig, everyone cheered. No sh*t. Seriously, where do they get these people from?

I'm probably one of the few hoping to hear "I Know Where I Belong" more than "Pain And Sorrow". IMO, better suited to Joe's voice at this point in his career and he just nails it. Great guitar solo as well that could be played on a Les Paul I would think, so yeah, I would also love to see this one on the US tour.

While I am at the front of the line for being amazed at the developement of Joe's voice over the years, it's still the guitar tones and the journey of those notes that spellbinds me. The changes in P&S, as well as the intro, are early Joe memories. Hearing them again on a Fender Strat nailed it. The same kind of changes in "I Know Where I Belong" give me shivers. It's a shake your head and sing along kind of song. This is like a "life review" of a Joe fan. I can't wait for the next show! This is a blast, even here across the pond! smile

Don't Burn Down That Bridge. No problem with vocals here. A little hot solo work by Rhodes and Fig has an impromptu cymbal solo in the middle of his solo break when his stool collapses. lol  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOCJQ-Qy … e=youtu.be

Thanks so much for this!  Joe looks like he is having so much fun on Burning Hell. Since I only discovered Joe a year ago, these are some of the songs I would so love to see live. Oh, how I wish I could have been there.

It's called a Gibson Skylark. Some info here and also on the forum:

Rick this is just a#1.  I like this better than any of the others. You just don't see folks doing slide work like that. Again, I am in awe!

I liked them both but Burning Hell was just out of this world! Man that was awesome! Thanks for posting the videos. It was great to hear the music but also really nice to get a feel for the show.
