Austin, TX – May 22, 2007 -- Honored as “the country’s most promising blue’s musician,” the recipient of the coveted 2006 Robert Johnson Star Award, Patrick Droney will be performing at the renowned Hill’s Café in Austin, TX on June 10th, 2007 as a benefit concert to support a local child named Savannah Samuels. On this evening, Patrick will showcase his musical genius to those fortunate enough to witness “first hand” his unique style that fuses Robert Johnson with BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joe Bonamassa.
The 14 year old Patrick Droney hails from coastal Southern New Jersey and possesses a textural smoothness and warm fluidity that connotes a visceral connection between his fingers and the fretboard, belying his age. Recently coming off opening performances for Blue’s Legend B.B. King, this young prodigy is not only an amazing musical genius and humanitarian, but he possesses a rare combination of talent, intelligence, charity and philanthropic means, qualities which are far beyond his young years.
Donations will be accepted at the door for $10.00. All proceeds will benefit "Savannah's Backyard" (designed to build a wheelchair accessible deck into her backyard).
