Topic: Smashing Pumpkins

Any other fans of The Smashing Pumpkins on the forum? They've been one of my favourite bands since the mid 90s. I've seen them live a few times and I'm hoping they'll come back to Europe again this year.

Here's a video of an entire gig from New York in 2011, very good quality http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaFyINh2f1w

I didn't realise they got big enough in the States to play stadium gigs. The only album I'm no too keen on is Adore, the one after MCIS. Oceania, released last year is excellent, nothing too heavy/noisy on it so you might like it. I agree Billy isn't the greatest of singers but good enough for their style of music.

Re: Smashing Pumpkins

Missed them first time around, but picked up their greatest hits album and played it a lot.  At one time I had "1979" as my ring tone and I'm one of the few that likes their cover of "Landslide".

Re: Smashing Pumpkins

Haven't heard their music for a while.
Adore is my favourite album of the Smashing Pumpkins, favourite song: To Sheila

Melancholy is a classic album IMO and where and when I first discovered the SP's.

Interesting use of pedals from James Iha on that YouTube film, - HOW MANY???

My YouTube channel with plenty of my Joe's videos dating from 2009 inc his first Hammersmith Odeon ones:

That was Jeff Schroeder, James Iha didn't return after the band split in 2000. But you're right, that's the most amount of pedals I've ever seen!!
