Topic: Jim Suhler's Birthday Assault

For those of you who follow Jim on Facebook, there is a post from Jim about being assaulted last night after he played a show.

I was not there, but I talked to Shawn (Jim's keyboard player) and he said that after the band finished, one of the bartenders thought Jim was mouthing off at him and so he charged the stage and shoved Jim off the stage, but luckily there were friends there who broke his fall. Jim immediately turned around and walked outside and called the police.

The police arrested the guy and found out he had a rap sheet and was out on bond. So he is sitting in jail now.

Shawn said Jim wasn't even talking in the direction of the guy and that the band was minding their own business and packing stuff up!

When they were driving home, Jim was quiet and then all of a sudden said, "He pushed me off the stage and it's my birthday!"

Shawn said, "well Jim, he didn't take THAT into account"

So, Jim and Monkey Beat are ok and they still have their sense of humor.

Good thing he's ok. I saw Jim open for Johnny Winter at the Granada last February. That was an awesome show!! Hope to see Jim again at some point!!

We saw Jim last night (Rockfarmer was there too) and I think Jim has recovered from the assault.

I do believe he exorcised some demons there at the end, only thing missin' was a preacher and some snakes! Now that's some Bluesrock.

I believe Jim Suhler & Monkey Beat have possibly had a little trouble at a gig on Shawn's birthday in the past (inside joke) lol?!
