Re: Chicago House of Blues

My tickets are Golden Circle row 3 seats 9 & 10.

So where is the Golden Circle located in the venue?  I hate it when they don't provide seating charts.

***Edit:  after Google searching HOB seating chart images, I see the HOB Nevada has the Golden Circle direcly in front of the stage.  It should be the same for Chicago.  So, sweet!

Hey everyone,

Finally heard back from HOB/Chicago regarding their camera policy. I guess a call in campaign might be in order when we get closer to the show date. Here's what they said:

"Hi Roy~

I apologize that you had not received a response.  I forwarded your message to the appropriate person on 5/30, so I'm not sure what happened from there.  I checked with the Box Office this morning (because they are the go-to for our questions on such matters), & they have not heard of photos being allowed during this show.  They said that if photography will be allowed during the performance, we would not find out till closer to the show date.  If you would like to contact the Box Office at the end of October, their direct # is 312.923.2018.

Sorry for the delay.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks!

Can someone answer why in the world would these establishments have a problem with cameras? I just don't get it!!

Roy,
I'm sure they're thinking of the artist (camera question) but if it's cool with Joe, as I've heard it is, then I would let the place know.

One thing that always puzzled me was why Tarzan didn't have a beard.

Re: Chicago House of Blues

I would guess the only way they'd allow it is if Joe himself told them it was ok. These corporate-owned outfits tend to make one policy and stick to it like glue. On the other hand, hearing from the fans couldn't hurt. I'll send a letter as well.

I'm just saying.

My guess is that this would have to go much, much higher up the corporate food chain before somebody has the authority (b***s) to change their policy.

Re: Chicago House of Blues

When I was at the HOB-Dallas I asked and was told that Joe would have to sign some legal documents along with the person taking photos. The person taking photos would also have to have a stage pass or laminate like the crew has. Honestly I just don't see that happening.

I know many theaters do not allow cameras, and with Joe playing more of those venues now and in the future I think we will be able to photograph less and less. sad

Re: Chicago House of Blues

the corp that controls the HOB also controls the Smirnoff Music Center here in dallas ...my buddy who is going to the upcoming john mayer show said that tix have 'audio recording allowed' printed on them....this is a clear reversal of their stated policy, and does provide hope that joe can help make these corp venues more friendly for the tapers and photographers out there

Re: Chicago House of Blues

Hey Roy, I'm no expert, but I have heard that the "rules" have alot to do with union laws. If the venue is unionized, the artist can be fined...I may not have this all right, but that's the main idea...     Cathy

Re: Chicago House of Blues

Thanks to BillS for the heads up.  Got tix in the mail yesterday.  4th-Gold Circle.   Midwesterners should stop by Indy in Sept. for the Rib America fest and catch the show there.  Great outdoor venue.... Price is right too.  Just remember to stop by Joe's merch tent and load up.
