Re: We Want Grooove
The cd is great. I would say that Octopus-e, Ode to Gee, and Animal/Work are some of my early favs.

Really itching to know...whose idea was it to put the 'hidden track' (Mr. Clean) after approximately 4 minutes of eternity, post track 9? Bloody brilliant!!!! It should have been longer!!! Barely gives us mortals enough time to recover from the shock of digesting the material we just heard for the past hour!!! I mean that....sincerely!!!
Or was it an honest accident in the mastering process.... Either way !!!!! C-L-E-V-E-R !!!!!
very excellent playing by all, right up my alley so to speak. Now if I could just get my copy delivered, please please mr postman. Should not be too much longer now. I wish it had some of those "extras" played at the potato, sounds really good live.
hidden track is not revolutionary,lol
Hey Jane.....agreed....just commenting on 4+ minutes of silence...........don't recall seeing a track hidden that long.......

Oh, ok, I suppose I can add another upload...
"Ode To Gee" in all it's Fun-kay glory!
I forgot to ask Joe whether the Ode To Gee was directed to Gee, as in "Gee Whiz", or since I thought I saw it listed as Ode To G(ee) at one point, maybe in my sleep , that it might have been for Larry G(ee) from Dallas?!
Anyway...: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=on4hbwGHrKU

Here is Root Down from the second night, second set. Fun drum solo by Tal at the end, he truly is the "Animal"

Maybe an ode to someone in particular or maybe just played in the G chord:

That would be Garth Close. He was known only as "G" (well, besides Garth and G Man). Larry G(ee) [Not our huge Joe fan Larry G from Albany, NY] is a soulful funk band. Check 'em out!

We haven't even scratched the surface yet. Lots to go. We all can dream, but a few of us got real lucky! You know this stuff is good when it already has hip hop and rappers using sampled riffs according to reports.
Rock Candy Funk Party covers Corea's Return to Forever. Sorceresssss! Night 1 first set closer, a bonus not on the cd.
Not your average Joe!

Well, I knew it was in the key of G, the "Gee" made me wonder what that was about...
