Topic: Worries about Joe

I worry about Joe a lot nowadays. I know he keeps a break neck schedule and I wonder how he keeps it up. When I read on Twitter now that he is tired and counting the shows until he is done, I worry about him over doing it. I know he is not a child and knows what he is doing but I still worry. Maybe it's a mother complex, since I am old enough to be his mother. I just want Joe around for a LONG time to enjoy his music and concerts, and I hope he is not burning himself out. Take care, Joe. We all love you to pieces and want the best for you! You are the best there is on this earth and forever will be!

Re: Worries about Joe

The road is his home. We all worry about Joe and his schedule but he loves what he does. He takes care of himself. Has a routine while touring by bus. The fly dates this fall wore on him but when he counts down the dates on tour it isn't so much of him longing for the tour to be over it is just his way of stating that they are on the downhill slide.

One of the goals as a Street Team community that we all were in the beginning was to get Joe to a point he could travel by bus then to not play 6 nights a week. The bigger venues allow him an extra day or two off a week. He is a seasoned professional and doing what he loves. Does he get tired? Of course. The road wears on them all. As long as nobody schedules a morning show appearance all is good.

Re: Worries about Joe

The worry topic comes up once in a while. Concerns about Joe's schedule, his weight, his health in general. I have to say, however, that I don't really worry very much about Joe. He seems to have the whole touring thing down to a science. I really believe that having guys like Carmine and Rick around, who obviously take very good care of themselves, has helped Joe maintain some sort of balance.

Re: Worries about Joe

I don't worry, either.  Joe saves his energy by not trashing hotel rooms everywhere he appears.... tongue

And the people that are truly close to him clearly care.  Plus, Joe's been at this for a longish while now, and it seems he's always getting better at it, as he goes.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Re: Worries about Joe

Every time I've met Joe, he doesn't seem like the type that is wearing himself out. He may seem tired, but I also get the impression he is really loving what he's doing. Obviously, things are never perfect, nobody has a job where they are completely happy every minute of every day. But overall, he's content and happy doing what he loves, even if it's a little bit of a grind.

Re: Worries about Joe

I would imagine he is probably getting a  bit road weary but still loves to perform.  It has been a long tour.  I really appreciate that he does so many shows.  Gives us all more chances to see him.  I think looking at his tour schedule he has a a couple of months off coming up.  Hope he gets to spend time with his lovely lady and family

Re: Worries about Joe

Joe knows what he wants and his limits.

He told us not to worry in the lyrics in Dislocated Boy.

"I have thought to rise my diction's and I've suffocated my pride,
Before you and I embarked on one hell of a ride,
Boy, I've had the blues since I been six years old.
But tell me don't you worry about my very heavy load"

Re: Worries about Joe

Thanks for the reassurance everyone. I know it's probably my motherly instincts kicking in. I have no children myself so I need someone to worry about, I guess. I love Joe as we all do and hope he as happy as can be. I know we all wish the same for him. Thanks again, everyone.

Re: Worries about Joe

Thank you everybody.   I'm fine and there is no need to worry ladies and gentleman.  I feel great albeit a bit tired but otherwise great.  Thank you for the concern but I am right were I want to be. I'm a road guy.  You all are the best. Mom loves you for it.

Thanks Joe for the reassuring words.  It's only because we want you to be happy and making that magic music that we worry.  Here's hoping the last  shows are awesome and you win many new fans to the fold.

Re: Worries about Joe

I am attending the Ft. Myers show on December 15th. Meeting Joe would be a real thrill for me. Does anyone have insight on getting back stage passes to meet Joe?

Re: Worries about Joe

Try to meet him at his tour bus after the show.
