Topic: New fan of JB here!

Hey guys, I just have started listening to Joe's music, started with Sloe Gin about a week ago, and today I picked up A New Day Yesterday and the Live at Royal Albert Hall DVD. Where've I been?? The crazy thing is I'm a guitar player myself and have read and heard about him in some of my mags and from other players. Guess I'm a bit late to the party, but what a party!! Anyways, hit me up when you get a chance and say 'hi'!

Hi Bluesman. It is amazing how Joe has flown under so many players' radar for so long. Hop on aboard the bandwagon and enjoy the ride. If you think his recorded music is great, just wait until you get to hear him live. You're in for a big treat. Welcome!

Welcome to the forum...and on the plus side, you may be "late to the party", but you've got the joy of future discovery ahead of you.  With 13+ albums, that's alot of Joe still to get to, for you.

And don't miss the Beacon DVD, now that you've checked out RAH.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Thanks guys, yeah sounds like my journey's just begun. I'm 37 and have been playing since I was about 14, and I've always been into blues rock and am heavily into blues, everything from SRV and Clapton, to Lightnin Hopkins and Robert Johnson. I'm even a member of the Blues Foundation! I look forward to talking with you more as I delve further into Joe's stuff!

Welcome aboard!  About 5 years ago I said the same thing?  How did I not know about Joe?!  Read most of the mainstream guitar mags. for years but he was never interviewed, songs not transcribed, etc.    Ended up discovering Joe through itunes, stumbled upon his live Shepherd's Bush show (which you can add to your list big_smile ).  Joe's the best, so glad you found him.

Me too! Sounds like Joe and I have some of the same influences, Clapton, EJ, BB King, I could go on and on!

Joe is just the best. You will have some great times listening to all the music he has out. All of it is great. I agree with JBFan4life, watch the Beacon DVD. He is not only wonderful to listen to but wonderful to watch him play and sing in person or DVD. Wonderful talent. Enjoy! I anticipate big smiles to come.
