Super good.  I can't believe how far your singing has gone forward in nearly 2 years.  It's really impressive to me.  Playing is great as expected.  But the Gary Moore guitar faces might be my favorite.  You can't fake the passion.  To me you are the real deal.  Keep workin' it kiddo.

Thank you, it's taken a bit of work... Still a long, long way to go though!! Enjoying myself more than ever!

Thank you for your kind words!

Stefan.

Stefan.

First of all, I also dig the facial expressions. Some people might say it's a cliché but I like to see the players emotions as well has hear them.

And your voice sounds really awesome, has already alot of character!

Re: The Stefan Hauk Band

Just catching up with your Aug. 9th video posts, Stefan.

Went right for the originals, but will watch all, when I can.

I'm also curious to hear what's been happening, per dknight16's question.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Well to cut a long story short I didn't want to waste my time and money on recording with the wrong band. But now that I have the right band and the right songs it's time to record.

Recording next week!

Re: The Stefan Hauk Band

Just played our first full show with the new lineup... And we had a special guest in female Australian blues sensation Gail Page... She had a nasty cold and all... She still sounded great! Here are some vids from last night featuring us and Gail.

'Tore Down' and 'Thrill Is Gone'.

Re: The Stefan Hauk Band

Took me a moment to recognize that was you, Stefan.  You sporting some new facial hair?  Or maybe it was just the lighting.  You sure didn't look like your current forum pic....

I enjoyed the vids.

(BTW, did you see my PM about the Tommy Emmanuel show I'm going to this Wednesday?  Even scored a meet & greet....sorry for the sidebar discussion.)

Thank you for all of the kind words!!

Thanks a million! Wouldn't say I'm a strat man... Just been playing the strat a little more than I did in the past! Still lots of love for the LP!

Hey guys,

Here's a rough mix of my band (The Stefan Hauk Band) playing Free's "Walk In My Shadow" live in the studio as a three piece, just to give you a taste of how the recording is going.

Hope you all enjoy it!!

GREAT STEFAN!
#1 Voice cool cool cool cool cool
#2 Guitar cool cool cool cool +1/2 boost for soloing!
#3  Bass cool cool cool
#4 Drums cool cool no offense intended as the beat is super solid.  Almost like it was scratch pad tracked first and it is just right for tracking over.  No matter, since it was recorded live, I'll be honest, I think they (or everything if you feel the urge for a retake) need re-tracking with a little "human error" (aka risk taking) and definitely a little more flair.  I was wond'ring if it was software loops, since I listen before reading...You know nowadays we (me) often cannot tell if it is live or "memorexceteraified" The main thing is you singing and playing are SUPERB.  In my opinions... big_smile  Overall, everyone good job. wink

its funny you should say that, because usually Jamie is the biggest risk taking drummer I know.... This was just the only take we did live in the studio and our headphone mixes weren't too great so I could doubt if he could really hear what I was doing. Retracting isn't an option as we played without a click.

Look at our version of White Room on www.youtube.com/stefanhaukguitarist and you'll see what he's really like.

But thanks for your kind words!

Ah yes, the headphone mix aka "if I can't have my way with the mixing console......." bit where live can become a bit detached.  That's the word to use then. Rhythm section detached.  It's fair to say your are the best player in the room, I am sure they know that, and no offense, your guys have very very good talent too.  Your voice and playing are telling you to bring it full bore foot through the floorboards.  You should be saving your money with a 50-50 split between upgrading your gear and a savings account to get yourself to the US of A...you too can be free.  If you are brave.  big_smile

Yes, White Room for me was always Ginger Bakers playing  fantastic and dominant, followed by Eric's mind-blowing wah, and then the whole thread of it Jack Bruce's cool playing and singing wonderfully those weirdly mesmerizing lyrics...nice job by him, once again, you, as usual. wink  Push! big_smile
