Probably better known here as Oscar Madison, the messy roommate in "The Odd Couple ", co-starring with Tony Randall as neat and tidy and obsessive Felix Unger.

Long been my favorite sitcom of all time...Big Bang Theory is challenging that though.

The wife's dad's heartthrob. I was just a lad but remember her well. Fabulous voice. She lived nearby.

Huell Howser.  CA folks will know who he is.  California's Gold on PBS was how I first heard of the Paso Robles wine area.  RIP

An icon. His California's Gold series was a must watch program. Folksy and kind of corny but totally lovable with looks into the hidden nooks and corners of California that even locals often missed. That series is available to watch on http://www.calgold.com/
RIP Huell, we'll really miss you.

Re: R.I.P. Thread

I've watched countless episodes of Ca. Gold and wasn't aware that he had retired this past November. 67 is too young to pass, he never had much of a chance to enjoy his retirement.

Shoot! His job WAS better than retirement.  Never saw this guy in my previous California residencies.  Found him post late night work, bored channel surfing, paused on him, but switched away...he kept coming back and finally reeled me in when he was somewhere I had been before.  He didn't make boring, mundane things very interesting always (but he COULD), and yet somehow he was tremendously entertaining.  "This is SPECTACULAR"!!! When he said that, he wasn't kidding (himself at least! lol).  Bet that's what he's saying right now!

A too short love affair for me...
