So, it's like this...I'm
Thick As A Brick
Hey Bluesman-That's sweet you think I'm such a lady that I wouldn't mention snot/bodily fluids, BUT I've been wondering something about spit!! Since you saw The Doors before maybe you know the answer to something I've been really curious about since last week's Rider show.
The Jim Morrison fill-in was a guy named Brett from Fuel. He was a refine looking young guy who wore black cowboy boots, tight, low black leather pants and a white shirt with the bottom buttons undone just enough to show off his six-pack abs when it flew open moving around and tease all the ladies in the front row when he danced along the edge of the stage. He almost lost his shirt, some serious groping going on...so you have the visual. The People Are Strange part, he spit repeatedly on the stage during the performance, at least 8-10 times. Totally gross, I never even saw someone spit inside before, let alone in front of an audience, so I'm figuring it was part of imitating Jim Morrison. Any thoughts?

And Locomotive is my all time fav- I love the guitar sound, whatever it is...I know it's not palm-muting, but that cchhh chhhh sound of the locomotive... however you describe it.
She's A Lady
Well she's all you'd ever want
She's got style
She's got grace
She's a winner
And the lady is mine
It's not unusual...
What's new pussycat? Woah, Woah
"Her trapezoid thermometer taste"
"Kiss my aura, Dora..."
"Yellow matter custard"
"Weird scenes inside the gold mine"
Bluesman- About Jim-Such a wasted life, it's sad. As far as Brett, he was an excellent entertainer, but most definitely has talent in the vocals, he was very good. I have a fondness for tribute bands (that have no original members) and I've observed w/the Beatle ones that they capture really small details...like the way Paul holds his head up to the mic. So, I guess Jim was a spitter and knew how to flaunt his assets... Jim had a great voice! And his legend lives on...
God damn, the Pusher man
Purple haze was in my brain
Manic depression captured my soul
Shame, Shame, Shame
To add to Bill-
Have you ever been experienced?
Move over Rover
Let Jimi take over
The wind cries Mary
The wind whispers Mary
Stone free to ride the breeze
Riding with the wind
Fly on little wing
There's a red house over yonder
Hey Joe
Foxy lady
Jane-I also thought of the Ohio song...
Tin soldiers and Nixon coming
There's something happening here
Stop, hey what's that sound
Everybody loves what's going down
Born in the USA
Nights in white satin
Breathe, Breathe in the air
The lunatic is on the grass
Money, it's a gas
Hello, Is there anybody in there?
Baby, we were born to run...
Angela,
I never saw Morrison live, but I don't believe he was a spitter. He may have been a drooler though, because most of the time he was either so drunk/stoned or both that it wouldn't have been surprising if he lost some body fluids on the stage. I remember a story told by one of the Doors, I think it was Ray Manzarek, and he said right before a show they couldn't find Morrison. They finally located him curled up in a fetal position under a table and of course, was wasted out of his mind. That must have been very tough on the other members of the band to have to depend on someone like him.
Now, as far as that young man that you saw. It sounds like he's trying to be the reincarnation of old Jim. Morrison always flaunted his sexuality during a performance and it appears that this guy must be well schooled in acting. I noticed that you didn't mention anything about his voice and maybe the "show" he put on was more impressive than his voice. The one thing that I can say about Morrison is that when he was somewhat sober and into the music, he sure could sing with the best of that time. Another wasted life that ended too early! I guess you could say that he did........"Break on Through to the Other Side."
Thursday goes too slow
I've got Friday on my mind
Coming Tuesday I'll feel better
Good Bye Ruby Tuesday
Still I'm gonna miss ya.................Enjoy the long weekend everyone!
SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER :):)
Take this job and shove it!!!!!!!!!!!!
