I know I'm not playing along...this thread's too long to make sure any contribution I make wouldn't be a repetition.

But it does remind me of a pretty decent book.  The title alone is great.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Appreciate the search tips, Jane.  I've used it from time to time, and agree it has its quirks.  Yet is reasonably useful.  True for most of the forum search functions I've ever used.

Now, I think this is "fresh"...I know her latest CD is.  Joan Osborne, performing "I Don't Need No Doctor".

The guy that wrote that book use to live in my town. There was an article in the local paper about his book, which I read and made  a post about here.
