Re: Elgin, IL 5-5-2007 with Carmine and Rick

Thanks everyone for your comments! I just wish I could get to a show or two this summer. It is going to be a long, long, wait until the Springfield show Sept. 7th. Unless I sprout wings and could fly to Europe this summer. But somehow I don't think that will happen.....

Joe normally uses the Gigliotti for Mountain time. But then again, he does ring the changes now and again, so it's always possible he might have used another for that song. Lucile comes out and substitutes for some songs too

Rhonda, book a flight into BWI for the Hagerstown show in June. Come join a crowd of Joemaniacs!!! Cathy (seriously e-mail if intersted)

Re: Elgin, IL 5-5-2007 with Carmine and Rick

Cathy,

I would love to but currently I am unemployed. My supervisor at the university where I worked ran me and the past 5 people in my position out of the office, I got tired of dealing with her! If anyone wants to take up a collection for me to travel.....lol. I guess I really should be looking for a job instead of surfing the forum. But this is so much more enjoyable, I think I have doubled my number of posts in the past week! lol

Rhonda, The universe is talking to you, pay attention. You have skills!!! Follow your bliss, as Joseph Campbell said. Sell some of those photos.. Ill buy some..and the Joe/Nicco shots would be a great poster for Blues in the Schools..There is another talented lady on this forum who does marketing..you two should hook-up!! Concert photographers have a good time...Anyway, easy for me to say. I'll cover the room and your ticket.....just need to get here.........Cathy

Re: Elgin, IL 5-5-2007 with Carmine and Rick

Cathy,

Unfortunatley I think it would be against Joe's wishes to sell the photos. I would never do anything that jeopardized the fan's ability to photograph at the concerts by selling them. Even though one of my degrees is in photography, I enjoy not doing it for a living. I can then photograph on my own terms. The problem is that I live in a small town an hour and a half outside of St. Louis and not a lot of opportunity here. Most recently I worked at the University of Missouri-Rolla (Engineering school) in admissions and prior to that taught high school English and Publications. My family got tired of me grading English papers 24/7 for 9 months and then workshops during the summer.

Something will come up, everything happens for a reason! I at least have paychecks coming through mid June due to so much time on the road for the university the past two semesters.

Glad there's a plan B Rhonda. Keep loving the picture taking because you're a pro!!! Still think that photo would make a great poster, even donated!!! Cathy

Rocket,

Excuse my spelling....I thought the spelling looked a bit odd. I fixed it in my post lol.

The sunburst strat I believe was used on Mountain Time. Lee, help me out here! You have seen the sunburst strat, am I right on Mountain Time? lol

~Rhonda

OK. It was most likely "Django". He played it that night right? Having not been to that show I suppose it may have possibly been one of the new songs, but unlikely. The six or so times I saw Joe use the strat it was always on "Django".
"Mountain Time" is played on his Gigliotti.

You're right. Django on the sunburst Strat and Mountain Time on the Gigliotti.
What surprised me was Blues Deluxe on the Les Paul...so used to seeing that gold Strat.

Hi Larry,

We will have to meet up before the concert! We a bringing a few bonavirgins to the show. Expecting the usual "wow" effect! From there we are going to head to Columbia, MO for Chris Thomas King on Saturday.
