Topic: The Tyne - Tees Gig Guide.

Inspired by Wooders' London Gig Guide, here's proof that there's life up North. I'm trying to keep things within Tyneside and Teesside, but open to "honourable" mentions and bribes.... Otherwise, it's the same rules as the London Guide; bands you think may be of interest to others on the board, in the rock/blues genre.

Re: The Tyne - Tees Gig Guide.

Bravo, Mike. That's an excellent list of Gigs oop North and (at least) one or two names on there that are new to me. Perhaps this will kick me into updating the London Gig Guide if work permits. sad  Thanks for adding dates to the London guide on a regular basis.

Cheers Phil. I was wondering if I'd made a rod for my own back, but just recently talking with friends and getting confused over dates, I thought it was about time I collated things and then decided to share. I'm trying to keep to some of the more active music clubs and bars, but if there's a gem of a band in a remote corner, then its worth a shout.

Similarly, I'd like to include some of our regional bands, some of which; Mitch Laddie, The Mentulls and Russ Tippins are getting known round and about, and some that are bubbling under and worth checking out. After all, the North east did give the world Hank Marvin, The Animals, Sting, Brian Ferry, Lindisfarne... okay, things took a downward turn with Jimmy Nail & Cheryl Cole...

Just happy to help spread good, live music - I hope you'll do some cross-pollination as the chance arises.

New "tweaks" for 2013, inc. Paul Jones + Dave Kelly, Mick Taylor & Bonnie Raitt.  Sadly not all in the same band.

I already know about that one. Saltburn's a fair bit away though and it's the week before London. But I'm not ruling it out completely!

And the name of the band is actually Jo Harman & Company, I see the Saltburn website says Jo Harman Project.

Well, Saltburn are relatively "new kids on the block", but keen as mustard. Just being in the shadow of Redcar & Guisborough Clubs can be a double-edged sword.

Re: The Tyne - Tees Gig Guide.

Slight mistake on the guide: - Mitch Laddie's gig at The Grand, Bishop Auckland is Friday 2nd Nov, NOT Mon 5th as origunally posted. My apologies: "my eyes are dim, I cannot see, these cataracts are blinding me...."

Re: The Tyne - Tees Gig Guide.

Looks like the Shildon Blues Festival, Nov 18th @ Shildon Civic has been postponed:  sad  Mitch Laddie, who was to be on the bill with Larry Miller, hinted as much on Friday night.

All the advertising round town has been removed, so if you already have tickets, you'll need to get in touch with the Civic box office or Shades of Rock promoters for more info/refund.

Anyone more Facebook savvy will probably clue you in more.
