I see them a lot here at the beach and along the waterfront and downtown where I frequently work. I wondered what the deal was and looked them up. We have neighbors that don't own a car and use these to do stuff out of walking range. The car is fully insured and quite a deal when you consider the alternative cost of car ownership. I imagine the range is 20-30 miles. Rent by the use seems pretty good to me.
