Deep Purple's Hush! Yes, had that 45 and played it over and over and over...as I did their version of Kentucky Woman. Those songs contributed to my downward spiral as well!

Two years ago here at 4th and B. Missed his show here last year. He comes by once in a while.

Did I miss your review or video if you took any?  Interested in how well latter dates have come off.  Was Derek in the band that night?

My real question, how was it?! neutral.

Outrageous! big_smile Here is a sample from last year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27XOhN2Nstk Most of the vids posted from SD are cell and totally overloaded on audio. He is effing LOUD, take ear protection! I went with a friend, got smashed and didn't think to write a report. All I remembered was Ted Rocked the house!

Had the oppurtunity to hear Hush & Kentucky Woman live in '68. Psychotic Reaction was a huge hit on AM radio here in the Bay Area since the Count Five were a local band out of San Jose. Journey to was some of the heaviest rock guitar I'd ever heard at that point. Downward spiral, LOL!!! More like planting seeds for me.

Re: Ted Nugent

Count Five were great, I bought that 45 single and thought the drums were just so cool. It did not lead to any downward spiral as I can recall smile , junior high school in Arkansas was pretty tame in comparison to later schools. Not a Ted Nugent fan for personal reasons, but did get to see him in the 70s and yes it was loud. I remember it was a semi-blind date that an idiot friend fixed me up on, I knew what her sister looked like. I wish that I had been blind. lol

Now those were the days in the City by the Bay. We all were going down one direction or the other. I might even recall a certain caddy pervertable with Mr. Owsley spreading delerium by the handsful to the crowds in the Haight. (or is that a flashback???) hmm

DP, Electric Circus (I think) NYC, where the bands played on the same level as the dance floor, no stage. Spent the whole night looking directly over Jon Lord's shoulder. That was the second time I realized just how incompetent I was on Hammond organ, the first being a similar gig of the Young Rascals (with the pre-Mountain Leslie West's Vagrants).

Re: Ted Nugent

I know it's got me gassing for a Byrdland. That blonde Byrd beast of Ted's is amazing. It's old and scarred, I think it's a 68.

Re: Ted Nugent

Glad to see ya'll praising the Nuge with the sweet love he deserves. I used to work for him and have been good friends w/ the Rockdog for going on 23? years now. HE IS the most bad **** guitarist still out there and his band is for SURE the tightest...no...I mean beyond tight! Got tons of great Nuge/Damn Yankee stories that are too good to be true from over the years, w/ memories that always bring a smile to my face. I was sad to tell him awhile back that this and last year's tours were the first time I would be missing, due to his schedule and mostly Dr.'s orders (no pun intended)/ possible impending 5th surgery. Think of the lucky 25? people at that club in Vegas Joe was playing when Ted dropped in late for the last set or something. That's why he said what he did about Joe here on his sight and still raves insanely about him whenever I bring him up. I had Joe sign a great close up pic of him for his 64th B-day last December in Yakima. It was a point blank shot of Joe in Eugene on the first show of the Black Rock Tour,  completely shredding on the same type of Rare '59 Mapletop? that Ted has 2 of. The ones that are worth no less than 20k. Ted got offered 100k for one of his 2 about 20 years ago from a collector in Japan. Ted said thanks, but no thanks. Ted was beyond honored of the pic and a tad bit choked up. I told Joe of the great wall o' Fenders days when Joe was still in diapers and Ted was defying the law of physics...and how beautiful it truly was. Rock on Brethren.

You are quite welcome Artisian...One sweet memory was when Ted switched spots w/ Tommy Shaw so he could be in front of us stage right. He explained his desire to Tommy and the crowd as he dedicated "FREE FOR ALL" to me in front of 10,000 people. Damn Yankees RIPPED into a version 2nd to none and Ted shot his pick at me right between the eyes from 10ft. right at the end of the solo. Talk about speachless! Murfdog was there 2 seats over and got a bottleneck slide from Tommy. I still get it brought up by other friends who were at various points throughout the venue like... Dude, Remember when???...Yeah how could I forget? Damn Yankees first tour opening for a generic Paul Rogersless Bad Company...Talk about Cart before the horse!

Re: Ted Nugent

This reply to ya got lost in the depths..Got a great 1:30 AM drag racing challenge w/ him down Broadway w/ Derek St. Holmes and Murfdog and another when an unknown James Hetfield and I ..and a few others camped for 3 days for front row Ted seats in early '81, in Portland also ...All details are beyond juicy
