Re: Goodnight Vienna-Acoustic Opera House Review

...there is something you cant see from the video and that is a 7ft black apron thats behind the band in a 180 degree sweep,it has a 10 inch slit in it,a camera on rails continually sweeps around back and forth filming the gig from the rear angle, two cameras on each wing, one centre going up and down the centre isle ...with the pro sound the DVD is going to be a must!

It's been really great seeing all these videos. The songs at Vienna were much more drawn out than at Montreux where he had to work under such a time constraint. Can't wait until the DVD comes out, it should be phenomenal!

Why thank you Mr. Pete the Cabby sir!  I love this song so much, must be my proximity to Mississippi and the crossroads.  Apparently I'm the only one who hears this song and visualizes a horse rider traveling a narrow, rocky path in the hills of northern Mississippi.  Joe's vocals are outstanding, love his high notes.  Great live version!

I can't imagine how hard it must be for Joe to be SITTING while playing all this great stuff.  He is always so busy on stage.  Stones in my Passway sounds awesome with the banjo.  All of these videos are simply amazing - Pete, you are indeed "the master" and thank you so much for giving up so much of your pleasure at this concert so it could be shared with others.

A mammoth effort Pete. By my count only half or so done. Totally appreciate all you have done for the fans. I know it's a labor of love, but nonetheless, a labor for sure. You da man!

Re: Goodnight Vienna-Acoustic Opera House Review

I've only managed Richmond, Gin and Bend so far but from those three I can see what a wonderful evening it must have been for all my friends who were there. I think Joe should definitely keep some of these arrangements in the setlist for at least the next year. The acoustic Sloe Gin is way better than I could have imagined and the emotion Joe teases from Tim Curry's words is something very special.

At this rate the summer will be over (hang on, I think it is already in the UK hmm ) before I get to the last of Pete's uploads but I can see it will be worth it.

Pete, may I add my thanks to the list of appreciative comments. The quality of the video, both in terms of picture and sound is fantastic. Thanks, Buddy and see you at the next amazing gig tomorrow. wink

Pete, I want to thank you for your fantastic effort in making these clips available to us so quickly. Very, very much appreciated!!

They certainly have wetted the appetite for the official release next year - quite the early teaser.

It shows what the power of the internet can do theses days...AWESOME!!

Thanks Pete, never thought we would get to see the vids so soon after the show. Great job.

Hope you got your " lightning" shot, and wasn't harassed by another over excited Welshman.

Re: Goodnight Vienna-Acoustic Opera House Review

Thanks Pete for that Slow Train.  I love that one.

Caught a glimpse of it last week before it was taken down and was looking forward to you posting yours.

Wow!  I must agree with you Phil, I hope Joe keeps some of these arrangements in the setlist.  Every time I watch one of Pete's vids, I think it can't get any better, but it does.  Great versions of High Water Everywhere and Slow Train, just amazing.
