Re: Joe in Rio!

Nice find and Google did a pretty good job. I can read some Portuguese and some of it was colloquial Brazilian.
"Crowd in delerium." "We will be telling our children and grandchildren we were there on the day." (paraphrased)
I think they liked him in Rio!

Re: Joe in Rio!

This show in Rio means a lot to me.go
I have been in contact with a fan that I met on the old Message Board in 2004 that lives in Rio.
Have been exchanging music, tee shirts, DVD's, Coffee Beans ever since.
He speaks Port, but has been learning English by chatting and Messaging over the years.
He types faster than I do many times.
He was able to help promote this show by Street Teaming in his city.
Helio got to meet Joe B4 the show, and got great tickets for helping the cause.
He was so excited about finally, after 8 years, getting to experience his first Live Show.
To say that he was enthralled would be an understatement.
Joe and the Band Rocked his World, and the rest of the crowd.
Thanks for posting up these Youtubes to give the flavor of so many getting to experience JBB for the first time!

I was there... Really really amazing experience. THANKS JOE by this strong performance. (My Beacon Theatre T-shirt arrived one day before the show LOL )
I became with very emotion with this live performance. Joe is a monster musician, a real iluminated guy.

Please Joe return soon. When you return, I will there for sure.

... and no Blue and Evil :-)

But believe me, it's still an UNFORGETABLE night in my mind!

Re: Joe in Rio!

That's awesome that Joe played Song of Yesterday, he did it at the Philly show back in Nov of 2011. It's definitely one of my favorite songs to see live. I also like how Tal plays on that song, just amazing. Sounds like it was a great show !

Re: Joe in Rio!

I agree dknight...personally I could not imagine going to a Joe B show and not hearing Mountain Time. With that said I do realize Joe has to mix it from time to time. For example, I hope he mixes it up in the Fall for those that just saw him in the Spring.

Just a thought, but he didn't take his usual lineup of guitars down there, did he?  If he didn't have his EBMM Steve Morse with him, maybe he just didn't want to try playing it on a guitar he hadn't practiced it on for awhile...

I feel your pain, my brother!  wink   That's a favorite of mine, as well, but so far I'm 0 for 3 hearing it live...

Glad you got a chance to hear him, though.  Now you know why the rest of us are slightly crazed on the subject of seeing him live...   big_smile

I heard a report from my Buddy Helio, that he played two Gibson's only.
An LP, and one with a whammy bar.

The Road is tough on Equipment.

Glad his voice is still in exceptional form.

When Joe sings the parts of Glenn Hughes, he does the choreography of Glenn's hand. Very fun.

This song is splendid. I love to play its introduction on my guitar.
