OMG …this band is like a natural force !!! They burned down that house !!! Life begins at 40 knots !!!

Thought 6 gigs would be enough … maybe not !!!

CU @ Blues Rhede lol cool lol

Tomorrow Ian Siegal & Jimbo Mathus @ Amersfoort … high time to pick up my reserved ticket for Mason Rack !!!

Re: Mason Rack Band from Down Under

Last night at The Shack they made a great party. The house was packed and the owners were very happy they used enough nails to keep the roof on the house... Funny thing: in the audience was a man on wooden shoes (really!) and Mason let him take them off to use them as a drumkit wink

Got my pledge in...  Hopefully a bit UK interest will lure him over here....

Re: Mason Rack Band from Down Under

I love what I learn on here! Hadn't heard of Mason Rack until now, even though he's obviously been doing it for some time and is from this country (albeit based 9hrs drive away). Love the YouTubes, especially the lap steel stuff and have found he'll be in my neck of the woods a couple times over the next 2 months. Will check out.
I got to see Govt Mule last year, who I probably I wouldn't have been aware of if not from this forum. (That was at a somewhat bigger venue than MRB will be playing).

Re crowdfunding - I'm in! I supported my favourite new Australian band (not blues though, The Delta Riggs - playing as I type at SXSW in Austin, TX) to record their first full-length CD and first US tour. It was a blast seeing those come to fruition and the sense of ownership caused me to repeatedly hassle my local record store if the stock was low smile
And... they seem to no longer need the help!

cool Great to hear that some of you also pledged cool
And you need to see the band live … pure energy … great fun …
Looking forward when the band will be back in Europe - hopefully with a new album lol

Re: Mason Rack Band from Down Under

Well, the Kickstarter was successful and the latest word is that they're heading for the studio to lay the album down; sounds like they won't be messing about either if they're looking to despatch later this month. Raw & bloody - just how we like it....

Re: Mason Rack Band from Down Under

So, I get to see them tomorrow night! Then they head over to Europe at the end of the month.

Also found a copy of Limits Of Grip at my local record store (where I've never has a problem getting anything Joe, despite reports of J&R Adventures releases sometimes being hard to get in  Australia) - rather marked down because it has been there for a while. See what else I can get tomorrow and it sounds like the new Big Bad Machine will surface in a week or two.

Wish you loads of fun … be prepared that they will rock your socks off !!!
My CD recommendation is the Mason Rack - Live in Canada. It's a fantastic live double album and one of my favorites. It perfectly captures the spirit of Mason and his band. Also like the DVD - it's not one of those perfect DVDs - it's a bit raw, just like the shows.

Can't wait to see them in Europe again … this time only 3 gigs for me: 2 June @ Kulturrampe Krefeld … 17 June @ Cafe de Weegbrug Roermond … 24 June @ Downtown Blues Club Hamburg. Unfortunately I'll miss the band @ the Nix in Enschede and also @ The Shack in Oude Meer.

Either of you - don't forget to let the band know that there's some of us in the UK would like to get in on the action.....

Re: Mason Rack Band from Down Under

Really enjoyed it. Certainly will be on the lookout to see them again, although there's some shows I've got lined up in the new few weeks that I expect to rock out wilder.
As well as Mason's unique voice and guitar prowess, his efforts with percussion on the keg and the drumkit duet were brilliant.

Only the DVD was for sale in addition to Limits Of Grip - which  I recognised some songs from including Hard Goodbye and In a Can. Mason said they'd done 2 from the new album.

A couple of phone pics of how we get to see them:
