I just watched a youtube clip from Dream Theater's Score DVD. Wow! Is all their stuff on a par with this? This is some good stuff!

Pull Me Under by them is a classic. The guitarist and the drummer don't have many equals. I'm not as crazy about the singer though.

I'm partial to "Casino" myself. The song "Fantasia suite for two guitars" is some of the best guitar work around. Just for informational purposes, if you read the liner notes for Joe's HTCT, Joe mentions Al Dimeola in reference to Faux Mantini (i don't remember Joe's exact quote, but there's a definite Dimeola style to that song).

I love all of Al Dimeolas fusion albums casino was certainly a great one.

Stu:  To answer your question about Dream Theater, my personal opinion is "YES!".  I have every CD they have released so far, every live album and every DVD....John Petrucci is one of my all-time favorite guitarists.  Email off-board if you want some personal recommendations.

Sheesh!  I didn't even know Gino was even available on disc!  I guess I haven't been looking hard enough.  I still listen to Pauper and Storm at Sunup on cassette!

Skynyrd's "Nuthin' Fancy"

opens up with Saturday Night Special (my fav car stereo recording) and rips along with classics like "I'm On The Hunt" and "Railroad Song"......nothing better than hard-panned guitars for a car stereo.

For cool audiophile sounds, I really like Los Lobos' "KIKO".

    "New Retribution" by Eric Gales is a favorite hard-rockin' tune.

    "Grant Street" by Sonny Landreth, "Live At B.B. King's Blues Club" (Jeff Beck), "In Step" (SRV), are all a lot of fun to blast also.

Hey Michael I don't like T. Rex, I love them!!!  "Born to Boogie" DVD, what a rush! I agree Wish You Were Here is all that, heck any Floyd album (I get weird looks for liking Animals so much, but eh, so...), but I just tossed out one I like that others might not have tried.
