This just in- "It's going to be awsome"! I know I'm a little early with this but I'm just so pumped to be there Monday night. Can't wait to welcome Joe to New Jersey.

Hi
Anyone have an extra ticket--or 2--for Red Bank on Monday night?
Also it says it starts at 8pm. Is there an opener? What time will Joe go onstage? I have to work till 6 and from what I can see it's a 1 h 10m drive from NYC to Red Bank with no traffic, so will probably be more like 2h?
thanks

No ticket but you can set your clock with Joe's appearance on stage. That means in your seat at a few minutes before 8. No opener is the norm. I'd ask for a small dispensation at work to be sure. Good luck and have a blast.
Ok here now and really pumped. Pretty normal stage set up for JB. Should be on soon so gotta go.
Just got in from Count Basie. Great show, lots of energy.
Highlight: new Howlin Wolf cover. Wolf meets Dick Dale, exciting riff.
Maybe time to change out some songs, even Joe looked bored with some of them.
I will catch hell for saying it, bit it may be time to retire Mountain Time, Sloe Gin, and JGP.
Would have loved to hear more from Dust Bowl and a few acoustic numbers.
Wow, those four guys are hitting on all cylinders. Very good show tonight in Red Bank. I must admit I wasn't a fan of Tal when I saw Joe at the Westburry in NY last year. I am happy to say that I was wrong. His drumming brings a lot to the band. Does anybody know the history on the Firebird Joe played on the first song tonight? Is it the one that someone gave him to use a few months ago?
Set list from the show tonight:
Slow Train
Last Kiss
Midnight Blues
Dustbowl
Who's Been Talking (off Driving Towards The Daylight)
Sloe Gin
The Ballad of John Henry
Lonesome Road Blues
Look Over Yonder's Wall
Dislocated Boy (off Driving Towards The Daylight)
Blues Deluxe
Young Man Blues (awesome Stairway to Heaven Intro & Drum Solo by Tal)
Woke Up Dreaming
Django / Mountain Time
Encore
Driving Towards The Daylight
Just Got Paid
One hell of a show.. wow..wow....
Props to the person who threw the bra on stage. Tal was a sport and put it on, then threw it at Carmine. It was one of those moments.
Next show for me is CT on Saturday!

I'm completely bored of Woke Up Dreaming. Can we have another--different--acoustic masterpiece?

I could have written this entire post top to bottom--my thoughts exactly, including my fave number of the night!
And you won't get hell from me for asking him to retire some of those songs.
My husband and I have now seen Joe perform 7 times....the first being in Philly about 8 or 9 yrs. ago. So, we know that he has a handful of songs that he likes to perform at every gig. We loved the show last night (experiencing Joe is always a TREMENDOUS treat!) but I would've enjoyed it even more if he played other numbers than those listed above by XLK9. And, although I love Ballad of Joe Henry, I would add that song to my desired retire list. It also has been played every single time we've seen him in concert since its release. But, I realize we may be in the minority who have seen him so many times to know what tunes he plays on a regular basis.
All in all, great show even tho I felt there was something just a little off w/Joe tonight. Not sure if it was the set list or the overall performance/energy level which was a tad lower than his usually high standards (and we've seen him kick major arse even while performing with the flu).
But Joe at 80% beats many, many artists at 100%. I would pay to see him strumming on a gurney.
The show was great from start to finish, I really enjoyed the three songs
off the new album. The bra was thrown by my wife to make Joes night !!

It was great meeting you and your wife-lots of fun!
I also enjoyed the songs from Daylight. I really think the Driving Towards The Daylight single might be Joe's biggest when it starts getting play.
I really don't get the problems with the play list. The last time through this area he played a lot of Dust Bowl songs which was great and if he did it again people would complain that the show was the same as last year. John Henry is Joe's baby so I definatly know he's playing that. Would love to hear it with the Baritone live someday but I'm sure there is a good reason Joe has for not using it.

Well, I may as well finish it.
What is with everyone and the smart phones taking endless pix and video.
I think it is very rude and disrespectful to the artist, as well as annoying to those of us who are there to enjoy the performance.
If you want to see Joe play live, BUY A TICKET! You are stealing the man's livelihood. Joe is not showing up at your place of business and grabbing free stuff.
Have some style, enjoy the show, leave the phone in your pocket.
Bought the new cd at the meet & greet , really great music
driving towards the daylight is amazing, Joes voice is excellent.
This is a must have CD.

Joe did not read it so no luck on the glasses, but it was worth it.
