Re: Forum players under 21

Haha! I've found some stuff from way back, here's a very mellow smooth jazzy/lounge/pop improvisation from 2010. Forgot I had this until I logged in just now!

Please beware, there is one VERY wrong note in there, haha. (Complete improv after learning some good sounding notes and one actual scale shape by the way)

Bit of fun, hope you like it!!

PS: It is similar to the intro of Takin' The Hit! tongue

Re: Forum players under 21

Very cool Stefan. You using a flanger, phaser or chorus? Seems to have a nice, slight warble or oscillation to the tone. Sounds good. -S

This is what I said about the above 6 months ago on a similar thread and I stand by it:-

Check out N.east band, The Mentulls - young Andrew Pipe has Joe's take on Just Got Paid, among others, absolutely nailed. Not bad going for a lad 15/16 years old.

Its a great tribute to Joe that after all the hard work he put in as a youngster and the acclaim he's now gathering that the next generation is looking to him for inspiration.

Mike

For a band where all are under 20, they have great attitude and professionalism on and off stage.

Hello there!

I´m 22 but thought I´ll post here nevertheless.

I plan to participate in a Blues Rock battle in my area and I´m just in the process of writing a track.
Since I don´t like Songs who are basically a backing track for a guitar show off (which is often the case with these competitions)
I tried to come up with a cool guitar theme which gives the song a meaning.
Anyway some feedback before I work out the whole song would be cool.

So here´s a  (really) short extract for you can to listen to the first part of the guitar theme, it´s obviously insprired by Gary Moore (kind of a modern version with that intro;-), hope you like it.

Constructive Feedback is welcome;-)

Love it! How long have you been playing for?

http://soundcloud.com/jonny-lowther/wok … ming-intro there's a little preview of the whole song that i will record soon..

Hello there,

I finally finished the little instrumental piece and played it for a short video, hope you dig it:

feedback highly appreciated!!!!

Welcome!! I really enjoyed your vids. Nice licks! Sorry you had to sell that guitar, but it's part of the Blues wink  I'll keep my eye on you too. Mucho skills for only playing for 2 yrs. You've got a gift!     Cathy

Thanks Cathy, that really means a lot.

Re: Forum players under 21

Hey folks, been a while but i just recorded a little video of me playing some Jazz and wanted to see what peoples honest initial reaction was, as im very new to learning Jazz (I got ill recently and couldnt practise so i learned a bunch of advanced Jazz theory to stay sane and eventually applied it to guitar)
Its in 2 halves, the first first is a little tune i wrote in like 10 minutes in the middle of the night, the second is some Jazz phrases outlining a I-1V-11-V progression

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJ-8ITYSa08

Hopefully get some feedback from you guys it'd be greatly beneficial

cheers

Wow! Very well done on the Wet Dogs clip!  I especially enjoyed the way you followed the drum roll around the 2:56 mark.  To my beat up ears, the mix could use just a touch more of the bass guitar, otherwise it fits together well.  Nice live dynamics with the drums too.
Good stuff.
