I ended up with front row tickets by pure luck when Merrill Auditorium released them ten days before the show. Se here I was at my first Joe Show sitting dead center stage for the night. I had planned to give a big review of the show set list, sound and all that. There is no one word or one hundred words that can explain the show. EPIC!! I have never seen a band play with that much passion and energy for so long. Well over two and a half hours.
A few favorites of mine were Sloe Gin and Dislocated Boy. DTTD sounded great and will be a staple on the set list for the next ten years. A few highlights of the show. Joe giving his guitar to a kid in the front row during Woke up Dreaming. Joe drinking his glass of wine on stage in his red Maine shirt. The real pain in the neck story during our greeting. The crowd going crazy during Just Got Paid.
After the show we decided to try and meet Joe at the bus. This was a family affair as my wife and kids also went to the show. I didn't wait long before Joe was upon me. Forgetting what I had rehearsed I had Joe sign my copy of DTTD as I stumbled for words. I then remembered that I had actually brought the family. Joe could not have been nicer as he greeted us. When it came family picture time with Joe something happened to our camera and it didn't go off. Feeling we already took to much time I was ready to leave when Joe asked "did you get your picture?" Joe stayed with us as my daughter fixed the camera and we did indeed get our picture.
Thank you Joe for the kindness and patience you showed my family. You have a great gift that you share with the world but your greatest gift is your humbleness and kindness you show to others. Thank you very much. Ron G-aka fett2112.
Sounds like you had a good time. I was not able to make it but my friend Jay and his nephew made out big time. I am so happy for both of them
