Re: Joe's 1960 LP ~ Gibson Custom Shop Collectors Choice #3
It's a heck of alot less than the guitar it is modeled after. Nice Collectors Choice!

If you can afford $5995 and you want it, get it. This ain't rocket science folks!
The Babe? What happened to Batman?
I call it Batman..... I dont know where the name " The Babe" came from.. We all have our names for these guitars.. For example.... 9-1951 the skinner burst when I bought it became "Principal Skinner" the names float around... I use the pin Jane H gave me on my strap. As for 0-0137 For me its called "Batman" or "5 Speed"
Just so you know...
We are nuts like that....

Always wanted a bigsby!!
Another nice one....congrats to the lucky ones who can afford it.... A Bigsby is cool on 3 pickup les pauls too....:)
Let's see... JB inspired ES335 and a 60 LP w/ Bigsby - I'd love them both, but I've got my heart set on a copy/inspired by version of the latest 59 in his arsenal. I'm thinking 12 to 18 months.
Thx for the link.......I wish it had some flame to her top........Come on lottery......
Wow, that looks really nice. I am not in the market for anything right now but it's something to remember for the future. (Maybe someday type of thing.)

I would love one of those. They could put "Collector" in the title as much as they want and I would still play the thing.
My last couple purchases have been electric, so I was hoping this would be delayed a couple months so I could flesh out the acoustic portion of the stable...
Wifey is only up to bar chords on "her" 335, so I doubt I can convince her she needs a Bigsby.

I was wrong. Looks like MAP came in at 6999.99. Call the store and maybe you can work a better deal? Fantastic looking guitars and I hear Gibson did these right in many ways including the pickups.

Looking at these reminds me of looking through the Sears catalog when I was a kid. Always cool stuff I wanted but never could afford. Still can't but I can still dream!
Alnico III magnets, I wonder if these are the same type pickups Gibson used on the Eric Clapton Les Paul Copy.

I was told by a sales goober "they were the best Gibson has ever done". So I asked if they were better than the WW spec pickups that were so raved about when they came out. The answer basically was "different than those, different than the EC's". Yeah ok.
Stay Safe Y'all!!!
I don't know... A gold top with a Bigsby like Joe's Prototype #1 I could go for, but I am not sure about this one.
But wait.... I HATE changing strings on a Bigsby equipped guitar...
Then get this http://www.vibramate.com/vibramate-string-spoiler.php

That is HUGE! Thanks very much for the link!! I am definitely going to get one - it will make changing the strings on my son's Gretch SO much easier!!
