Hi,

my name is Helmut and I am the proud owner of #354, Munich, Germany.
I have some questions regarding the guitar.

I think Gibson did not care about the quality in every detail in my impression. There is a very badly painted spot on the neck (above the Gibson-Logo) in the curves. It´s like there was dust and instead of removing it before painting, they decided to paint all over the dust and raw (not well-sanded) wood. Then I am wondering that there is no wrap-around bridge on the guitar. In the specs there is the wrap-around bridge written. Does anyone have the wrap-around bridge?

I like the guitar, the sound and the look, but I am wondering because of this quality-issues... .
Best regards,
Helmut

Hi welcome to the forum & congrats.....your guitar should have a warranty if you bought it new..
Gibson should be able to help you out with a qualified luthier as well...

The bridge/tailpiece are all standard...the strings are just 'top-wrapped'.

Trying to sell with and recoup some of the price of those upgrades is kinda dodgy. You can obviously do as you please but may be better off selling guitar in original state or not upping the price because of aftermarket parts.

Cool, hope you got a good price. I jumped on one when American Musical dropped their price on them once the stock was near exhaustion. Beautiful guitar. Enjoy it smile

Very nice, congrats!

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature ES-335 Registry

Does anybody know if the JB 335 has an accurate single ply fingerboard or does it have a 2 ply fingerboard since most were mfg'd in 2012?

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature ES-335 Registry

I think they are 2 piece ones.....

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature ES-335 Registry

Thanks! That answers the question.

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature ES-335 Registry

Some are bothered by this, due to it not being vintage spec, and others are not. Guess it boils down to personal preference.

I hear ya. The people who find it a bother are most likely the same people who can't really play guitar and would rather belly ache about gear than enjoy it wink If someone thinks they can tell a difference between this fretboard and a one piece- then they either have too much time on their hands or are probably lying. The JB335s are stunning guitars and sound great.

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature ES-335 Registry

I agree. Keep meaning to post my serial number, I just keep forgetting to do it.
