with regard to this guitar, i asked the question, 'why does it not appear on the gibson website" & i was told, that they recalled or didn't send anymore out as joe did not want his name "overused" if that's true, where are the others, where they turned into regular es 335 vos, or what?....... can anyone throw anymore light on this?
cheers

Originally we did the ES-335 models with a limit of 50 units for Guitar Center to promote this years King of the Blues competition. Something happened and there was a misunderstanding about worldwide and 365 of them were sold until I said we cant make anymore. It really was only supposed to be a very limited model. No blame on Gibson mostly on me for not realizing that orders came in from all over the world. Thats why they are not available anymore. I figure one for everyday of the year is enough... Count mine and we even have leap years covered..

Well, seems that chocolate sold off his JB ES-335 cause I just bought serial number 83 from a vintage outfit in IL. I am based in mid-Hudson Valley, NY. Expecting guitar this week!

Hi,
I,ve got my new JB a week ago. Please add #248 for Blue Daniel, Germany.
I always loved my ES 335 Dot reissue and played it a lot but the JB is much superior . The sparkling highs, the Neck and the look are awesome. (espacialy the VOS treatment seems very authentic to me)
Are ther other components than the lightweight tailpiece and the vintage tuners which made this guitar so light and resonant?
regards
Daniel
Congrats Daniel and welcome to the forum. I've added 248 to the registry list.

Hi. I've just bought #174 used. Waiting for it to arrive, so haven't actually seen it yet. I noticed on pics of the guitar that it has a 'long' pick guard, yet I've seen others with the shorter version. Can anyone shed any light on this? You'd think that there would/should be some consistency with a 'limited edition' sig model . . .
Not a complaint btw just curious . . . and can't wait to get my hands on the guitar.

Welcome to the forum...enjoy the guitar when it arrives....:)
Hello all! I purchased JB 348 from Dave's Guitar Shop and it arrived yesterday afternoon. My wife's out of town so I stayed up late last night playing through a cranked up Jackson Ampworks "New Castle 18". I've always been a Fender guy, but this thing is pure bliss. There's so many great tones to be had out of this thing. I'm mainly a blues and rock kind of guy and it covers those genres in spades.
I'm a little late to the game, but I feel very fortunate to have found this guitar. Best birthday present ever!
