Was lucky enough to see The Firm in Edinburgh in 1985 but have to say that although the union of JP and PR looked great on paper, for me, it didn't quite deliver on what it promised. It was good but not great.

About time Jimmy got out there again.

I was at that gig as well and would agree with what you say. There's a rumour that they will appear together again but it won't be The Firm.

It should have worked better than it did.  I'm not sure I understand why it didn't click better.  Maybe lack of drugs.  I did enjoy the live show I attended, but was kinda pissed he didn't play his Les Paul more than 1 or 2 songs.  Can't remember many of the specifics.

"Live in Peace" was a song off of Paul Rodger's solo album that they gave The Firm treatment. 

Glad he picked this particular song to do as it is one of my favorites with the Firm.  Love how it starts off with just Paul singing and playing Piano., then "Gunfire in the Street" then you here Boom Boom from the drums.  Then the whole band doesn't come in until "Why can't we Live in Peace".  It has a very full sound.

Also what makes The Firm stand out to me is Tony Franklin and his fretless bass.
Like the interplay between him and Jimmy.

probably did not give it enough listens, I bought the first one in '85 and was completely underwhelmed. They played Radioactive nonstop on the local rock station. I came to hate that song. didn't even know they had another album in '86. With that much talent, as dknight stated, it should have worked better but poor songwriting was at the forefront of why it didn't. Yeah, there was no more Page-Plant collaboration and that's all I had to compare it to.

Nice. The drummer, Chris Slade, also played with AC/DC.

He was the best with John and Carmine in Blue Murder...what I wouldn't give to see those guys come back...but a terrible clash of egos...
