Re: Joe at Normans Rare Guitars

If I'm not mistaken, that guitar in Joe's hands has a $325,000 price tag on it!!!  At the same price as a respectable house in a decent district, it must play like an absolute dream for that money!  I hope Joe covered his belt buckle before playing it!  LOL.

Gibson LP '89 Custom * Gibson LP '04 Classic * Gibson JB LP Studio * Fender 50th Ann. Deluxe Strat * Gibson Explorer Pro * Epiphone Korina SG * Michael Kelly Patriot Premium * Ibanez 105NT Artcore Custom * Takamine acoustics * Fender Blues Deville 4x10" * Marshall DSL100 and DSL50 * Marshall 1960A * Laney LH55 * Bugera V55HD * Bugera 212VT * Marshall 1912 * Roland Cube 60

Re: Joe at Normans Rare Guitars

I think the price tag is due to it being so clean really.
Apparently they have turned down a few offers of just under the asking price. But it brings them money purely because they have it in store.

"just for your information this guitar has brought us over half a million dollars in publicity. It was featured in a 3 page article in the Robb Report, LA Magazine, Success Magazine, Wealth TV, etc etc etc. Just for your information a 3 page color article in the Robb Report is about $80,000 per page. For this reason, we are glad that we still have this guitar because it creates so much interest in the store."

Very cool guitar!  I got to play a 59 recently and I am now a believer in vintage magic.

Re: Joe at Normans Rare Guitars

Uncle Norm is a lovely guy. Had the pleasure of buying a couple of guitars from him a while back. Everyone should have one of his T-shirts in the closet...as worn in Spinal Tap!

No
the first set of Bonamassa Signature SD pup's were from Magellan his first real 1959 Les Paul.
I have set #256 sound great, even in my meager hands

Re: Joe at Normans Rare Guitars

Nice clip, man that sure is a clean Burst!

One day I'd love to have the chance to play a 58 and 59 side by side, I have a feeling that if money was taken out of the equation I would possibly pick the 58 due to the neck. Joe is so fortunate yet so gracious and humble at the same time ~ I really respect that.

Re: Joe at Normans Rare Guitars

That telecaster is amazing. Giving me serious urges to go out and start checking out buying a new guitar. Wonder what the price tag is on that? Ha ha.
