Topic: Songs of Anarchy

Just had a listen to the new soundtrack CD release from Sons of Anarchy. Lotta good stuff, mostly covers with new spins. This Life, the title theme from the show is obviously included and Katey Sagal who stars in the show does 4 tracks including Son of a Preacher Man, My My Hey Hey, and Bird on a Wire. The one cut I really enjoyed was an acoustic instrumental cover of Fortunate Son. Got a free listen to it via Rollingstone.com on a flash player included in the article about the Indie artist release.

Dawg,
Guess you didn't read my post about SoA.  Katey Sagal is more than Mrs. Al Bundy - was at one time a backup singer for Bette Midler.  I really love her cover of "Son of A Preacherman".

After hearing her sing odd times as Leela in Futurama, I wouldn't have rated her as a singer but always happy to stand corrected. Big fan of the SoA series, so I'll be putting the CD on shopping list.

As a side, did you guys know the actor who plays Jax, Charlie Hunnam, is a Brit? Comes from Newcastle upon Tyne which isn't far from me.

I recall a post about the show, but it's been awhile. Yes, I do know about Katey's & Charlie's backgrounds and did you guys know that she is married to Kurt Sutter who created the show and plays Otto, the SoA on death row who flipped on Bobby Elvis & the club. Did you guys know that David LaBrava who plays Happy is the motorcycle coordinator for the show and is an active Hell's Angel? David was probably the connection to get Sonny Barger on the show. Last nights finale gave me whiplash with all the twists and turns. Can't wait for next season!!! It's the Soprano's in leathers.

Not from the show, but I've included it on my SoA playlist cause it's cool and fits right in.  Hope you agree Dawg.

I love that tune and that's my go to show after The Sons call it a season. I call that one The Sopranos @ WalMart, LOL!!! Between Sons of Anarchy and Justified a lot of cast members from Deadwood and The Shield have work again. Last night I got a laugh when the sheriff told Juice he was free to leave the jail cell he was being held in, he was watching The Shield on TV when the scene opened, shameless plug by Fox.
