Topic: New To My Turntable

Despite juggling long hours in a new job along with my wife's latest adventures, life doggedly continues, and that includes my pursuit of new music.  Thanks out to Blues Sissi's mention of Dave Osti's new live album.  I never realized Dave was such a great picker and the songs breathe new life into bluesrock.  Live N Dirty is one of the best live albums I've heard in a while and who the freak are the rhythm players?  Can't stop the head boppin' and toe tappin'.  If you don't have it I'd strongly recommend adding it to your Xmas list.
In the past week I've been researching artists and bands that have had their music used on the series Sons of Anarchy and have found some great music.  I don't watch the show, but the music they use has that Quentin Tarantino soundtrack feel to it.  Here's some of the stuff I've picked up - if you've got the time to investigate you may be pleasantly surprised.....

Bob Neuwirth - "Biding Her Time" - Superb laid back blues number
Gia Ciambotti - "Bobilicious" - What a cool song!  Gotta get up for this one and what a sexy voice.

Five Horse Johnson - "Fly Back Home" - Think Skynyrd/Zeppelin.  Again, no way you can sit still listening to this.
Audra Mae & Forest Rangers - "Forever Young" - Audra is the great-great-neice of Judy Garland and is an incredible talent.  She reminds me alot of Grace Potter and I predict you'll be hearing more from her in the future.  Audra also does an A Capella version of Dylan's great song that'll put a lump in your throat.  Think I'll dedicate it to my Son.

She also pulls off the rare improvement covering a great song.  In this case Tom Petty's "Breakdown".  All I can say is it's perfection.

Yes Boss!  I've actually had two cds done for you since September.  Same goes for Mike, Pete and Rick.  There have been distractions and outrght procrastination on my part, but everything will be sent before Christmas.  To be truthful I can't stop tinkering with these darn things and need to just accept imperfection.
