Normally, I would have no hesitation in making the trip but I was in London last week for 3 days and got home late on Friday so it's a no go. Cheers for the heads up though Michael.

Damn! That's good. I'm trying to keep my gigging down to save money (petrol really, not so much tickets) but now I'm re-considering Sutton on the 8th. Hrmmm, why did you have to post that Michael???

Re: Stoney Curtis Band London gigs this week.

I've been a Stoney fan for 5 years and as Michael knows I'm still a big fan.
I can give you all in the UK an advice: Go and see him, he still is great and I know!!
Why? Been to his show yesterday in Almelo Holland and it was truly brilliant. He is such an extraordinairy guitarplayer with great vocals as well. I enjoyed the show so much, did an interview with Stoney and Diego Budicin as well. It will be published on www.bluesmagazine.nl soon as possible.

Please UK fans do me a favour and tell afterwards how it was! I bet a great rocking show with great guitars and vocals.
Diego is a 21 years old Italian guitarplayer and he will be very well known in the future, I'm sure.

Just believe me..........

Re: Stoney Curtis Band London gigs this week.

All I can add is if you won't commit, just download his latest CD "Cosmic Conn3ction" (SCB 3) and give it a listen. That will change your mind I think!

Major Tom to ground control...

Envious is the best word I can come up with Michael - we were hoping to get down to London again before the holidays and ordinarily this would have been the perfect excuse. Just can't do it this time though as my dear old Mum needs us around - she's in hospital recovering from a bad heart attack and they may be discharging her tomorrow or Wednesday and we'll need to keep a close eye on her for a while. Family comes first.

You guys all have a great time, and don't be too enthusiastic with the feedback eh? ;-)

Re: Stoney Curtis Band London gigs this week.

I use to see Stony Curtis play on Friday nights at a small Blues Club in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles.  He was always very entertaining to see. I don't think the place could hold 50 people and there was no charge to get in. The good old days.

Re: Stoney Curtis Band London gigs this week.

What a great night  it was at The Beaverwood, Stoney Curtis put on a fabulous show with amazing raw rockin blues with scorchin' guitar licks, superb entertainment for just £10 with Dave Jackson band a fine opening act and hope someone posts videos up of their songs, then this amazingly talented italian protege Diego Budicin, just himself playing stellar guitar tricks over a backing track, he done a blistering Joe Satriani Satch Boogie cover (even Pete an avid Satch fan was blown away, me too) Diego was extremely talented and we should all be hearing a lot more of him.
Stoney came on and was straight in to Last Train to Chicago, a rousing opener and crystal clear sound too, "Colors" was next, one of my fave Stoney tunes (hope someone got that) it was searing stuff, the whole set was on fire with Shuffle tunes, hard rockin to the wall and some heartfelt songs too "The Letter" is a very moving song off his superb new album "Cosmic Conn3ction" buy it folks, buy it.
One of the very best shows i've ever been too, it was how blues should rock, i am totally shocked how Stoney is not bigger and known throughout the Blues and Rock genre, he should be playin at least 1000 capacity venues,
He is on his second coming in Europe and should capture more audiences on his return next year, he cannot go unnoticed with such a supreme show like that, (he reminded me of when Joe first hit out shores) he has to do the pebble effect and send out ripples, i hope he suceeds the songs are strong enough and he certainly has the licks and chops big time, great fender and gibson rock sound.

Maggie has "Soul Flower" on video for you to judge, it is just crazy rockin blues, plus "The Letter" wonderful lyrics and a soulstealer
hope Maggie puts these up soon, they are just great and a brilliant memory of a fabulous night in deepest south london on an early cold december night.
