Re: Crab (nee Turkey) Time

Shite! No crab yet @ Safeway or Raley's, may not hit the stores till the weekend. Safeway quelled the craving by putting lobster tails on sale for $5.00 ea., but I'm waitin' for Da Kine.

Re: Crab (nee Turkey) Time

Still none yesterday, but cashed in on the lobster deal. 4 oz. tails are about the size of a large count prawn, or the size of the tail you get @ Red Blobster. The crab will be in today for a buy one get one deal. I crack 'em myself and pay about 1/2 that price. Rename this topic CRAB TIME!!!

Re: Crab (nee Turkey) Time

Great minds think alike! I was working at our HQ in Rogue Island this week. On the way out of town yesterday morning I stopped in at a lobster shop and got 3 "select" (2-3 lb.) Jane and I had two for dinner last night washed down with a Goose Watch Traminette (semi-dry, about 1% residual sugar) and an Inspire Moore Sauvignon Blanc (bone dry). The third bug has been cleaned and the meat reserved for tomorrow's breakfast - Lobster Newburg! smile

At $7 a lb. for selects, how can you go wrong? wink

I also stopped in at Bonamassa Guitars on the way home. Len was out shooting a commercial but I got to visit with Bob for a bit. I'll throw some pics up on FB later.

Major Tom to ground control...

Re: Crab (nee Turkey) Time

Finally scored yesterday and was lucky to get 2 of the last 3 they had. The butcher said people were @ Safeway @ 6am to buy them up, good thing I got there @ noon. Ended up paying $9.99lb., but got the 2nd one free. Very tasty I might add, I'm ready for more!!!
