Topic: Wet jacket

I saw JB in concert last night in Savannah.  (I saw him for the first time in Jacksonvile last year.)  By the third song I noticed that the shoulders and back of his jacket were completely wet.  Does he sweat that much on stage?

Re: Wet jacket

I don't know if he does, but I sweat just watching him lol

I've seen him dripping after a show. Joe works his tail off for us up there on stage!

Yes, but his jacket was soaked from shoulders to waist by the third song.  He is either sweating a tremendous amount or perhaps he wet his jacket to keep him cooler.

Are you sure he was wearing a jacket ?, it could have been a sweater  big_smile

No matter how far you try to push the envelope, it remains stationery

Yes, a jacket like he usually wears.  I was sitting in the eighth row, center.

Re: Wet jacket

Welcome to the forum jmac. My guess is yes, he does work that hard and thus sweats accordingly. I think the first thing he does after a show is change his shirt as well as rehydrate before he meets fans. I've seen him play outside with high temps and humidity, when the audience was dropping like flies, and he didn't miss a step. Think of his shows as a sporting event and he's a prime athlete. Now, please, write a review. We appreciate any info. Thanks Cathy

Re: Wet jacket

He would really have to be sweating a lot to soak through the shirt and jacket that quickly, probably at least a cup.  It wasn't just one spot - it was both shoulders down to the waist.  In fact, it seemed like there were dry areas in his jacket between the wet shoulders and wet back.

If he sweats that much, why not leave off the jacket?

Re: Wet jacket

Many artists i've seen use fans on stage - it's a matter of choice.

I remember seeing AC/DC & Angus Young perform - oh boy does he sweat! His remedy to keep cool though, is to strip slowly throughout the show. ha ha

Now, not saying Joe should follow Angus - just sayin'

Re: Wet jacket

...sweating is good for ya!...when Joe wears the Silver one he looks like a trout pulled out of the pond after about 5 or 6 songs ...get front row at a Sayce gig and you get rained on ...all perfectly normal and nothing to worry about!  wink

Stage lights put off an incredible amount of heat. Strap an 8-9 pound guitar on and give it everything you've got for a couple of hours...presto!

Yea, but this was after 10 minutes.

Re: Wet jacket

jmac, sorry, but I don't think we're going to be able to answer your question in a satisfactory manner. The only other suggestion I have is to post your question on Brett's thread and maybe he'll have a reply.  Cathy
