Topic: Bottom end break-up on amp??

So got to open up my two-rock studio pro 35w at a gig last night which I have running through a Marshall 2x12 150w TSLc212 cab with g12 vintage/heretige speakers as standard to this cab.

It's a 16ohm cab and using the 16ohm output on the amp.

I found however I was getting a harsh breakup on the bottom end mainly on the E string yet the rest seemed to stay clear.

The guitar was a Gibson bonamassa sig lesPaul and so Im guessing the pickups are too harsh and causing the signal to distort?

I was running the amp on about 3 gain / 4 volume so would expect it to stay clean across all the strings or could it be the speakers them selfs where distorting?

Great amp, it's really hard to get a bad sound out of it. Did you try the pickup loading switch on the back to compensate for humbuckers?
Paired with a 2x12 I'd keep the bass well below 12 o'clock to prevent muddiness. You could also play with the pickup height and see if it gets better.

Good shout with the pickup loading. Not really sure what it does but with it turned on it seemed to help cut out the harsh top end frequencies on the bottom E under hard attack.
