Happy Birthday idolbone. contrary to what j=dawg says Crown Royal is best enjoyed without someone around who thinks they should tell you how to best enjoy it, lol   tongue   I like it with coca-cola but each successive drink gets less soda. Crown Royal is one that tastes better than other whiskeys but i still really enoy it with a bit of the sweet

Nothing more disturbing than watching somebody order Crown with Coke or another mixer. Crown Royal is best enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or with just a dash of H2o to breath it. Enjoy your half-century gift at your leisure, but no need to hoard it, there's more @ the store!

To each her own, if you're gonna drink whiskey straight or mixed, might as well drink the good stuff.

Re: Crown Royal...

Bravo on the 28 years Big Jeff, mine was WT as well and had to give it up many years ago because it kept kicking my arse. I have to agree that mixers with really good liquor are just wrong, but to each his own. I have a few beers now and then but it doesn't make me run out to the liquor store and disappear for days as before. At age 57 I just don't fit the true alcoholic profile, but maybe as the BB says just that fairly hard drinker that alcohol causes problems for from time to time. I know, too much information.
We DID have a joke page, and on this subject I have one to share. There is nothing funny about alcoholism, my uncle died from the disease circa 1973 in Daytona Beach,FL. But I will share one with you anyway that was told in many meetings. BJJ I know has heard it or will appreciate it.

So this alcoholic finds an old dusty ornate bottle, and he proceeds to dust it off. To his amazement, a genie pops out and says that he will grant 2 wishes. The man pointed to his nearly empty bottle of bourbon and said, "I would like this bottle to fill back up to the top every time it becomes empty, with the finest bourbon money can buy". The genie said "Your wish is granted, and what will your second wish be?" And the alcoholic thought for a moment and said, "Same as the first wish".
