Topic: ZZ Tribute

A ZZ trib album came out this week and of interest is Grace Potter's fine little rendition of "Tush".  There's other nice re-workings and though none touch the originals I always enjoy younger artists tackling classic rock.  Surprises on the disc other than GPN are Jamie Johnson seamlessly singing "La Grange", Mastodon's energetic boogie of "Just Got Paid" and some unknown (to me), Duff Mckagan's rave-up of "Got Me Under Pressure".  Have ta turn some of this stuff up with the windows down

Re: ZZ Tribute

I shall look out for it Curby.

I rediscovered the 'Top' a few years and back a got a double CD with loads of the early stuff on there.

Since then with a variety of bands/combinations I've been covering quite a bit of their stuff and it goes down so well.

I quite like these 'interpretation' albums, if they are well donewith a few twists.

'Top' music is as timeless as it is adaptable. Whats the title of the album? I hope someone did 'Fool for your stockings', thats a current fave of mine!

Re: ZZ Tribute

The interesting thing about the project is it's produced by ZZ Top.  Billy and crew hand-picked the artists.
