Topic: My Sweet George - revisited again

So, the 10th anniversary of George Harrison's passing is upon us next month......where does the time go?? To help mark this sad time and also to celebrate George's life Martin Scorcese has made a documentary to be released on the 10th of October (at least, that's the date in the UK) entitled Living In The Material World. Evidently this will also be shown on UK televison during October and there's also an article on George in this month's Mojo magazine with a fairly interesting CD of artists covering some of George's work.....not sure if you guy's across the pond can get this mag??

One of my all time favorite artists. I plan to see that documentary as soon as I can.

While there is no denying the genuis of Lennon/McCartney, George was the seasoning on the steak. I don't care if you cook Kobe beef to perfection, if you season it wrong, you can ruin it.

Time and time again George took ground beef, cube steak, and yes the occasional high end cut of meat and consistently made them all not only palatable but delicious.

Re: My Sweet George - revisited again

That's quite an ironic way to look at it Stu, seeing as George was a vegetarian  big_smile

We watched the first half yesterday, I agree, its excellent!!! George's humor is priceless! George had a reputation of being a man of few words, but then you hear him say something short, sweet and really deeply philosophical.

Geoff, being a guitar player yourself, you may appreciate that when I met my husband 27 years ago, he truly enlightened me as to George's significance to the Beatles. I'm embarrassed to admit that previous to that, I just enjoyed the music and spent alot of years drooling over Paul  tongue , never really appreciated George being the lead guitarist, etc. etc.

Now that we're in our early 50's, we were both saying just how young George was when he passed.  sad
