I bought their records and attended one concert.  But, no band has ever gone so far on basically ONE album.  Ladies and gentleman, I present to you Guns N' Roses.

Thanks for the article.  That article pretty much represents just as much hooey as the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.

They really should rename it, because it's all around popular music, they took the Rock n Roll right out of it.  Then it would better define partially what it is more about.

I thought this was based on music.  Joan Jett, in for sure, and lets through  the runaways in there too, and Heart not?  Are you Freaking Kidding Me?  I know Joan Jett had that one huge hit, but we are talking Hall of Fame, which means best of career.  Man, for me the runaways are like double-A baseball compared to Heart being in the Major Leagues.  What kind of catalog does the Runaways, Joan Jett, Lita Ford combined have to Heart?  One of the best female rock vocalist and you have to think about putting her in?  I'll take Nancy by a mile over Joan and Lita combined.  Sorry not to pit girl groups against each other, but this is why this ain't no Hall of Fame.

They put in people who have nominal careers into it. And leave out the big guns, the best of the best.
That's why there is a running joke that if you are not in the Rock N roll Hall of Fame, it's more of an honor.  Look at the company you are with.

Speaking of which, where is Bad Co, Free?  You want some real Rock music in that hall.  Paul Rodgers, they never heard of him.  Probably would make him pay admission to Music that he owns.

sorry Ian, I just picked them out of the nominated lineup and had to make a joke. I actually bought one of their releases on a cassette tape back in the 90's, it was just so-so. But yes, his voice is easily identified, and the hair/lipstick thing is pretty tame compared to some other lead singers. But further, no they do not deserve to be nominated ahead of Rush, no way in Hades.
And since they are going to nominate more bozos this year, I would like to add one to the list....................................the inimitable Billy Shatner.

Well...  I have had my fair share of run ins with saying stuff about awards...  Blues music awards in particular.   I think the case of Rush and the rest of the class of un-nominateds will get on very well with or with out that little plaque and a decent dinner at the Waldorf Astoria...  Now lets talk about Paul Rogers's bands and Free , Bad Company and the Firm not getting in..  That is the truest crime in my opinion...  Maybe if Fire and Water was a freaking punk song they would get in... Ok I ll stop now..
